  • Patent number: 4902545
Abstract: A boot for an automobile comprises two terminal annular parts and a barrel part intervening between the two terminal annular parts. This boot is obtained by injection molding a flexible PVC material. The flexible PVC material of one type (I) is composed of a polymer component and a plasticizer, which polymer component is obtained by blending high polymerization degree and low polymerization degree PVC's respectively having an average polymerization degree in specific ranges, with the mixing ratio of the two PVC's being in a specific range. The flexible PVC material of the other type (II) is composed of a polymer component and a plasticizer, which polymer component is obtained by blending a cross-linked resin having a non-gel component average polymerization degree and a cross-linking degree in respectively specific ranges with a non-cross-linked resin having an average polymerization degree in a specific range, with the mixing ratio of the two PVC's in a fixed range.

  • Patent number: 4843224
Abstract: In IC card with a built-in IC, comprising an external power supply terminal and a solar battery, the external power supply terminal is connected to an IC internal power supply line through a first switch, the solar battery is connected to the IC internal power supply line through a second switch, and a voltage detection circuit is connected to the external power supply terminal. When the voltage detection circuit detects a voltage on the external power supply terminal, it switches ON the first switch and switches OFF the second switch. When it does not detect a voltage on the external power supply terminal it switches OFF the first switch and switches ON the second switch.

  • Patent number: 4812634
Abstract: An IC card having a plastics card body which mounts a CPU, a RAM, a ROM, a solar battery mounts also to EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read only memory), which is used for identification of a card owner. Due to high power consumption of said EEPROM, a tandem type solar battery in which a plurality of opto-electric conversion cells are laminated on a substrate is used. The present IC card can operate with only the solar battery mounted inside of the IC card, and has no secondary battery.

  • Patent number: 4761333
Abstract: A steering wheel is described, which comprises a core that is covered with a synthetic resin covering material which is overlaid with a coating film thereon, wherein said covering material is formed using an injection molding method by a resin composition that comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyvinyl chloride resin, 100 to 200 parts by weight of a phthalic acid ester based plasticizer represented by formula (I) and 10 to 40 parts by weight of an acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each an alkyl group, provided that when the total number of mols of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is 100 mol, a monomethyloctyl group is present in an amount of 10 to 60 mols, while a dimethylheptyl group is present in an amount of 30 to 70 mols.

  • Patent number: 4734808
Abstract: A cylindrical bore of a head member with a coaxial sleeve portion has at one axial end a larger-diameter part, the diameter of which is somewhat larger than the diameter of a cylindrical shaft which is to be press-fitted into the other end of the bore to achieve secure attachment. The large-diameter part ensures that a wear-resistant but fragile tape contact shoe (such as, a shoe made of ceramics) intimately surrounding the sleeve portion of the head member opposite the larger-diameter part will not be cracked or otherwise damaged when the cylindrical shaft is thrust into the cylindrical bore.

  • Patent number: 4579775
Abstract: A steering wheel for automobiles in which the coated part of the rim core bar comprises a soft foam with a skin layer. The soft foam with a skin layer result from expansion molding of a polyvinyl chloride plastisol. The polyvinyl choride plastisol is prepared by blending a paste resin with a plasticizer, a stabilizer, an expanding medium and other subsidiary materials.

  • Patent number: 4567217
Abstract: A steering wheel is disclosed, which is produced by injection molding a resin composition comprising (i) a crosslinked vinyl chloride polymer having a gel fraction of at least 20% and a non-gelled portion having an average polymerization degree of from 2000 to 3000, (ii) a non-crosslinked vinyl chloride homopolymer having an average polymerization degree of from 800 to 1000, and (iii) a liquid plasticizer, wherein the weight ratio of polymer component (i) to polymer component (ii) is from 50/50 to 80/20 and (iii) the amount of liquid plasticizer is from 70 to 130 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total amount of the two polymers (i) and (ii). The steering wheel has excellent properties with respect to uniformity in matte surface, wear resistance and lightfastness.
