  • Patent number: 8628953
Abstract: In order to make a process of capturing and testing air-borne microorganisms more convenient and quick, a capturing device which comprises the capturing carrier comprising a polymer which is in a gel phase at the time of capturing the microorganisms but undergoes a phase transition under heating to a sol phase at the temperature at or less than 40° C. (especially in the temperature range between 15° C. and 37° C.), and a vessel to contain the capturing carrier is used. Further, by comprising a test reagent in the polymer, the test reagent can be eluted upon said phase transition from a gel phase to a sol phase. By heating the capturing carrier, a phase transition to a sol phase can occur at or less than 40° C. As such, since recovery of microorganisms and addition of a test reagent to the microorganisms can be carried out simultaneously, the process can be simplified and the process time can be shortened.

  • Publication number: 20140011960
Abstract: In analyzing, fractionating, and culturing cells alive, operations can be more simply made in real time and culture can be performed while removing unnecessary cells from cultured cells for purification. Desired cells are also analyzed and fractionated from the cultured cells to increase the purity, recovery rate, and viability of the cells. A cell-adhesive photocontrollable base material is used in which light irradiation causes the bond dissociation of a photolabile group comprising an O-nitrobenzyl skeleton to irreversibly change the surface of the irradiated portion thereof from that of the cell-adhesive material to that of a non-cell-adhesive material. Cell images are detected and analyzed to obtain the positional information of desired cells. Based on this information, areas among cells and a cell-adhesive photocontrollable material are cut by second light irradiation.

  • Publication number: 20120312083
Abstract: There have been the following problems with sequence analysis using multiple nanopores: trapping a sample in the nanopores is not always 100% efficient and unnecessary time is spent to measure pores in which no sample has been trapped, resulting in low measurement efficiency. To address the problems, a labeling substance is boned to a sample, and the sample to which the labeling substance has been bonded is trapped in the nanopores. An apparatus for observing the labeling substance is used to observe the labeling substance and monitor whether or not the sample has been trapped in the nanopores. Measuring only nanopores in which the sample has been trapped allows the measurement efficiency to be improved.

  • Publication number: 20120302847
Abstract: A first special image is produced by combining an overall bright normal light image with a blue-enhanced image in which blood vessels and their shapes are enhanced, and displayed on a display device. A suspected lesion such as a spot is detected in the first special image. When the suspected lesion is found, an oxygen saturation level of the suspected lesion is obtained. When the oxygen saturation level of the suspected lesion is in a hypoxic condition within a predetermined range, an oxygen saturation image representing the oxygen saturation level is displayed instead of the first special image on the display device.

  • Patent number: 7959055
Abstract: In a wave soldering tank using a conventional screw pump, pulsation sometimes occurred in which molten solder spouting from the discharge nozzle moved up and down. The cause of the occurrence of the pulsation in a screw pump was that the gap between the screw pump and the casing was wide, so there was reverse flow through the gap. It is conceivable to narrow the gap, but if the gap is made narrow, the screw pump ends up contacting the casing if the screw pump becomes eccentric. A wave soldering tank according to the present invention makes the diameter of the inlet in the bottom of the casing smaller than the diameter of the screw pump so that reverse flow does not take place even if the gap between the screw pump and the casing is wide. Flow is made more stable by providing outwardly flaring guide walls on the outlet of the casing.
