  • Publication number: 20040014834
Abstract: A first object of the present invention is to provide a light-scattering/reflecting substrate according to which adhesion between a light-scattering film and a reflecting film can be improved, and durability and chemical resistance can be improved. A light-scattering/reflecting substrate 1 is comprised of a soda lime silicate glass substrate 2, a light-scattering film 3 that has an undulating shape and is formed on the glass substrate 2, and a reflecting film 4 that is formed on the light-scattering film 3 following the undulating shape of the light-scattering film 3. The light-scattering film 3 is formed into the desired undulating shape by applying, onto a surface of the glass substrate 2, a material obtained by adding a photosensitive resin made of an organic material as a binder to an inorganic material such as silicon oxide (silica), aluminum oxide (alumina) or titanium oxide (titania), and then using a photolithography method.

  • Patent number: 5895722
Abstract: A sheet of ultraviolet-cutoff glass includes a primer layer, an ultraviolet-cutoff layer, and a water-repellent layer which are successively deposited on a glass sheet. The water-repellent layer is formed of a vitreous water repellent. Since the water-repellent layer doubles as an overcoat layer, it makes it unnecessary to form a overcoat layer in a separate overcoating process.

  • Patent number: 5693365
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for forming a water-repellent film on the surface of a transparent substrate (e.g., sheet glass). While the film on the coated substrate is dried, the temperature is controlled to fall between 15.degree. C. and 25.degree. C., the relative humidity is controlled to be 30% or preferably from 15% to 20%, and the speed of the air stream to be applied to the coated substrate is controlled to be 0.5 m/min or lower. The water-repellent film formed by the invention has a uniform thickness and good abrasion resistance.

  • Patent number: 5599893
Abstract: A hydrolyzate resulting from co-hydrolysis of a perfluoroalkyl group-containing organic silicon compound and a hydrolyzable group-containing methylpolysiloxane compound in a hydrophilic solvent is blended with an organopolysiloxane and a strong acid to constitute a water repellent composition which is effective for imparting water repellency and facilitating falling of water droplets and thus imparting excellent water repellency and stain-proofness to a surface of an article treated therewith.

  • Patent number: 5108857
Abstract: A light control sheet capable of scattering an incident light of particular incident angle is produced by a method composed of preparing a film of a composition containing at least two photopolymerizable components having different refractive indexes, irradiating on the film a light from a particular direction, and obtaining a cured film of the light control sheet product. Such other light control sheets as capable of scattering a plurality of incident lights each of particular incident angle are obtained by modification of the above-mentioned method.
