    Abstract: Adjustment of temper grades in steel strip for producing tin plate and tin-free steel plate in various temper grades is advantageously carried out by a method wherein the hardness of cold rolled steel strip is adjusted by continuous annealing and the temper grade is thereafter adjusted by subjecting the hardness-adjusted cold rolled steel strip to dry or wet temper rolling.
