  • Publication number: 20220355763
Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to securing wireless communications for passive keyless entry (PKE) to an asset. In one embodiment, a method includes, responsive to acquiring sensor data about at least a surrounding environment of a vehicle that provides access according to wireless communications with a remote device, analyzing the sensor data to define operating conditions identifying security characteristics of the vehicle and interactions of the remote device with the vehicle. The method includes activating a countermeasure from an available group of countermeasures according to at least the operating conditions. The method includes wirelessly communicating, by the vehicle with the remote device, according to the countermeasure.

  • Patent number: 11443038
Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to securing wireless communications for passive keyless entry (PKE) to an asset. In one embodiment, a method includes monitoring operating conditions associated with the asset. The operating conditions identify security characteristics of the asset and interactions of wireless devices with the asset. The method includes selectively activating at least one countermeasure from an available group of countermeasures according to at least the operating conditions. The method includes wirelessly communicating, by the asset with an accessing device, according to the at least one countermeasure.

  • Patent number: 10091188
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing accelerated passphrase verification are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a full security string, generating a full security string hash code, storing the full security string hash code in a memory, determining at least one substring based on an entropy value associated with one or more leading characters in the full security string, generating at least one substring hash code and at least one corresponding character count value, such that the corresponding character count value equals a number of characters in the at least one substring, and storing the at least one substring hash code and the at least one corresponding character count value in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20170286665
Abstract: Electronic devices are adapted to facilitate execution of software signed by more than one entity. According to one example, an electronic device can store software including a hash table segment. The hash table segment can include at least one hash entry, a first signature and first certificate chain from a first entity for the at least one hash entry, and a second signature and second certificate chain from a second entity for the at least one hash entry. The electronic device may validate the first and second signatures. If both the first and second signatures are validated, the electronic device can execute the software. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

  • Publication number: 20170093586
Abstract: Techniques for managing certificates on a computing device are provided. An example method according to these techniques includes receiving an image file comprising a hash value of a certificate on which a certificate action is to be performed, the certificate action being a revocation action or an activation action, the image file having been signed by a signing certificate, determining whether the image file has been signed by a valid certificate by comparing a hash value of the signing certificate to a plurality of hash values associated with certificates stored in a one-time programmable memory of the computing device, and performing the certificate action, responsive to the image file having been signed by the valid certificate and the certificate on which the certificate action is to be performed having been found in the memory, by setting a value of an indicator associated with the certificate in the memory.

  • Patent number: 8646046
Abstract: A digital rights management system includes an authentication module and a decryption module. If desired, the modules can be implemented in separate integrated circuits. The authentication module retrieves authentication information for protected content and powers down after the authentication information is retrieved. The decryption module decrypts the protected content based on the authentication information while the authentication module is powered down.

  • Patent number: 7913284
Abstract: A current mobile multimedia signal time slice is captured using a mobile MM receiver in response to a current mobile multimedia stream-identifying command input. The current mobile multimedia signal time slice contains at least one portion of a currently selected mobile multimedia stream. At least one anticipated mobile multimedia time slice is selectively captured. The at least one anticipated mobile multimedia time slice contains at least one portion of a corresponding anticipated mobile multimedia stream.
