  • Publication number: 20230311577
Abstract: A tread portion includes a land portion provided with lateral groove-shaped elements arranged in a first array. Each lateral groove-shaped element extends from a first end to a second end. In the first array, the second end of one of the lateral groove-shaped elements is located at the circumferential same position as the first end of another of the lateral groove-shaped elements. Each lateral groove-shaped elements includes a first portion on the first end side, a second portion on the second end side, and a third portion therebetween. The first, second, and third portions are inclined in the same direction. An angle ?3 of the third portion to the tire circumferential direction is smaller than angles ?1 and 02 of the first and second portions, and a length of the third portion is greater than a sum of lengths of the first and second portions.

  • Patent number: 11518197
Abstract: A tire that includes a decorative pattern formed on a surface of a sidewall portion. The decorative pattern is formed such that a plurality of ridges that extend in a tire radial direction are aligned in a tire circumferential direction so as to form gaps. A transverse cross-section of each ridge is tapered so as to gradually reduce a length along the surface such that the greater a distance from the surface is, the less the length along the surface is. The decorative pattern is structured so as to satisfy expressions (1) and (2): 20?A?40??(1) 0.15?C?0.25??(2) wherein A represents a taper angle (degree) of the ridge, and C represents a minimum length (mm) of each gap measured along the surface.

  • Publication number: 20190168544
Abstract: A tire is provided with a tread pattern comprising a series of a number N of tread design units arranged repeatedly and circumferentially of the tire in a sequence and having a number m of different circumferential lengths. A first pulse train is defined by viewing the tread design units as pulses arranged in the same sequence as the tread design units at intervals which are defined by the circumferential lengths of the corresponding tread design units expressed in term of a ratio to one of the number m of different circumferential lengths. A maximum value Pmax of amplitudes P(k) (k=order from 1 to 2N) of frequencies obtained by Fourier transforming the first pulse train is limited to specific values. The amplitudes P(k) and P(k+1) of every two of the adjacent orders (k) and (k+1) do not satisfy a condition that both of the amplitudes P(k) and P(k+1) have values of 2/3 or more times the maximum value Pmax.

The tread design units have at least two different circumferential lengths. Viewing the tread design units as pulses, a pulse train is defined. Magnitudes of the pulses are proportional to the circumferential lengths of the tread design units. The average of the magnitudes corresponding to the different circumferential lengths is limited to 1.00. Maximum value Fmax of amplitude F(k) of k-th order (k=1 to 2N) of frequencies obtained by Fourier transforming the pulse train is limited to be 4.52?0.0125 N. The amplitudes F(k) and F(k+1) of every two of the adjacent orders (k) and (k+1) are limited so as not to satisfy a condition that both of the amplitudes F(k) and F(k+1) are 2/3 or more times the Fmax.

Abstract: To improve the rolling resistance and air resistance of a tire. It has a belt layer composed of two belt plies in which belt cords are obliquely arranged at mutually opposite angles ? with respect to the tire equator, and a band layer composed of a single band ply in which a band cord is wound spirally in the tire circumferential direction. The angle ? of the belt cords is in a range of 35 degrees˜55 degrees. When Wt is the tire cross sectional width (unit: mm), and Db is a bead diameter (unit: inch), the tire cross sectional width Wt satisfies the following expressions (1), (2). Wt=<?0.7257×(Db)?2+42.763×Db?339.67??(1) Wt>=?0.7257×(Db)?2+48.568×Db?552.
