  • Patent number: 7382890
Abstract: A sound reproduction device includes an LCD 20, which is an exemplary front panel, a case 22, and an electromechanical acoustic transducer 23. The LCD 20 is operable to perform a predetermined operation in response to an electrical signal applied thereto. A space 24 for sound emission is formed between the case 22 and the LCD 20. The electromechanical acoustic transducer 23 is connected to the case 22, and emits sound to the space 24. If the electromechanical acoustic transducer 23 emits the sound to the space 24, energy of the emitted sound causes the LCD 20 to vibrate and thereby to externally output the sound.

  • Patent number: 7212648
Abstract: A sound-driving loudspeaker system is achieved with a simple structure and is capable of easily improving acoustic characteristics. The loudspeaker system emits sound by driving a diaphragm panel by an electromechanical acoustic transducer. The loudspeaker system includes a board, the diaphragm panel whose rim is fixedly attached to the board so as to form a space and which has a stiffness lower than that of the board, and the electromechanical acoustic transducer for emitting sound into the space. With this structure, the diaphragm panel is flexed to be vibrated by the sound emitted from the electromechanical acoustic transducer.

  • Patent number: 7085394
Abstract: A first magnet is provided in an upper case and a second magnet is provided in a lower case so that these magnets face each other. These magnets are magnetized in opposite directions. A diaphragm having a drive coil is placed between these magnets. Thus, magnetic flux emitted from the respective magnets bends in a direction approximately perpendicular to the initial direction of emission of the flux. In the magnetic field, the component of the magnetic flux in the direction of radiation proportional to the driving force is dominant, and is symmetrical relative to the direction of vibration. Therefore, the sound pressure of the reproduced sound is increased and the secondary harmonic distortion caused by asymmetry of the driving force can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6920957
Abstract: A loudspeaker diaphragm affixed with a coil includes an edge portion located outside of a portion affixed with the coil and a center portion located inside of the portion affixed with the coil. The center portion is provided thereon with ribs. With these ribs, the height of the center portion can be limited to the height of the ribs. Therefore, it is possible to save a space of a loudspeaker where the loudspeaker diaphragm is placed, thereby slimming down the loudspeaker. Furthermore, with these ribs, the rigidity of the center portion can be improved without using a conventional solution of forming, for example, a dome shape on the center portion.
