  • Publication number: 20120193282
Abstract: A filter media is disclosed comprising a carrier and a web collected on the carrier. The web comprises hydrophilic polymeric meltblown fibers and a plurality of sorbent particles enmeshed in the hydrophilic polymeric meltblown fibers. The carrier comprises a porous sheet and has a carrier basis weight. The web has a web basis weight. The hydrophilic polymeric melt-blown fibers comprise at least 3% of the web basis weight and the plurality of sorbent particles comprise at most 97% of the web basis weight.

  • Patent number: 6093663
Abstract: An elastic laminate structure is provided which is formed from at least one fabric layer and an open cell mesh having first and second strands. The laminate structure is formed such that the first strands are integrally bonded to the first fabric layer. The integrally bonded first strands both penetrate the first fabric layer and bond mechanically and/or chemically to the fibers of the first fabric layer. In addition, the first strands are deformed such that they are substantially flat in shape and substantially coplanar with the fabric layer. The elastic second strands have a substantially elliptical shape. The integral bonding of the first strands and the deformed shape of the first strands and the second strands provides an elastic laminate structure which can be worn about the body without irritation or other discomfort.

  • Patent number: 5700255
Abstract: Absorbent article such as disposable diapers, incontinent briefs, diaper holders, and the like, that have a unique composite member forming a portion of the elasticized side panel and the elasticized waistband. The composite member includes an elastomeric member and a three-dimensional, macroscopically expanded, formed-film member secured to at least one of the surfaces of the elastomeric member. The composite member provides the preferred bulk, elasticity, resiliency, and stiffness required to withstand the application, wear and removal stresses and provide the desired comfort during the typical wearing cycle of a disposable diaper.
