Patent number: 11233644Abstract: A secure device comprises a secure computing environment (SCE) that stores one or more cryptographic secrets, such as private keys, and is able to receive input from secure input devices such as a keypad or smartcard interface and provide output to secure output devices such as a secure display. The SCE provides safeguards against remote and physical exploits, erasing or rendering unusable the secrets in the event of actual or suspected exploit, protecting the secrets from compromise. The SCE may digitally sign internally generated messages or messages from an external device such as a smartphone. Message signing conditions may be checked and satisfied in the SCE before a digitally signed message is generated. Messages may be automatically signed if they satisfy specified conditions. The secure device may be used as part of a multisignature scheme in which a plurality of private keys are used to create a digital signature.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2018Date of Patent: January 25, 2022Assignee: GRIDPLUS INC.Inventors: Karl J. Kreder, III, Alexander Scot Miller, Mark Vincent D'Agostino, John R. Boyd, IV

Publication number: 20200394651Abstract: A system enables cryptocurrency payment transactions between devices using off-chain asset data that is related to blockchain assets within a blockchain but without committing the payment transaction to the blockchain until a later time. A device selects a settlement model to determine if a payment transaction is valid. When valid, the device adjusts a value of off-chain asset data stored in its memory. The device may aggregate multiple transactions, which may involve the same or different cryptocurrencies, adjusting the value of the off-chain asset data stored in its memory after each transaction. Subsequently, the device may commit at least a portion of the off-chain asset data to the blockchain.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2019Publication date: December 17, 2020Inventors: KARL J. KREDER, III, ALEXANDER SCOT MILLER, JOHN R. BOYD, IV

Publication number: 20080110110Abstract: A self-sealing window with a flexible gasket that extends around the entire perimeter of closure assemblies and a method of installing such closure assemblies in a rough opening. A sealing member is attached continuously around an entire perimeter of the closure assembly to form a water impermeable seal between the sealing member and the closure assembly. The closure assembly is inserted into the rough opening. Accurate positioning of the closure assembly in the rough opening is verified. The closure assembly is secured in the rough opening. The sealing member is engaged with an exterior surface of the structure proximate the rough opening. A foam material is delivered into at least a portion of a space between perimeter edge surfaces of the closure assembly and inner surfaces of the rough opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2008Publication date: May 15, 2008Applicant: PELLA CORPORATIONInventors: Cordell Burton, Scot Miller, Gabriel Gromotka

Publication number: 20070094957Abstract: A drainage system for a fenestration assembly is located in a rough opening of a structure. The drainage system includes a moisture barrier located between at least a bottom of the fenestration assembly and a bottom inner surface of the rough opening. The moisture barrier includes a vertical portion extending generally vertically downward below the rough opening on an external side of the structure. A channel assembly is located generally below the rough opening. The channel assembly includes at least one channel having a channel entrance proximate the bottom inner surface of the rough opening and a discharge opening direct toward a drainage area. The channel includes an effective cross-sectional area adapted to siphon water located on the moisture barrier to the drainage area.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2006Publication date: May 3, 2007Applicant: Pella CorporationInventors: Cordell Burton, Scot Miller, Gabriel Gromotka

Publication number: 20060150561Abstract: A window assembly having a window frame and at least one primary sash mounted in the window frame. The primary sash has a plurality of sash members forming a primary sash perimeter and a first glazing panel mounted in the primary sash perimeter. At least one secondary sash is pivotally attached directly to the primary sash perimeter along an interior surface thereof so that the secondary sash is rotatably movable between a closed position and an open position relative to the primary sash. The secondary sash has a plurality of secondary sash members forming a secondary sash structure and a second glazing panel mounted in the secondary sash perimeter. An air chamber is located between the primary sash and the secondary sash that is substantially closed to the interior of the building structure. At least one accessory channel is locating along at least one side of the secondary sash members.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2006Publication date: July 13, 2006Applicant: Pella CorporationInventors: Marlo Van Klompenburg, Kenneth Nossaman, Kraig Downs, Gabriel Gromotka, Bruce Hagemeyer, Gary Tagtow, Daniel Parrish, Scot Miller, Andy Breuer, Ranjith Rajendran, Bruce Sievers, Jeffrey Belloma, Mearl Minter

Publication number: 20060150514Abstract: A window or door assembly having a secondary sash hinged to a prime sash and movable between a closed position and an open position toward an interior region. The prime sash is coupled to a frame. A compressible member biases the secondary sash toward the open position. A latch assembly is provided including a plurality of retractable latching elements each biased to an extended position to retain the secondary sash in the closed position. The latch assembly includes a sliding operator accessible from the interior region and slidable along an edge of the secondary sash to sequentially displace the retractable latching elements to a retracted position sufficient for the compressible member to move the secondary sash toward the open position. The present invention is also directed to a method of operating the latch assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2005Publication date: July 13, 2006Applicant: Pella CorporationInventors: Gary Miller, Kenneth Nossaman, Marlo Van Klompenburg, Scot Miller

Patent number: 6610146Abstract: Dies which facilitate the threading of a strand are disclosed. Each die embodiment includes portions that move relative to each other to allow access to the area between the portions. One embodiment of a die embodying the principles of the invention includes an upper portion and a lower portion. Each die portion includes components corresponding to substantially half of a wirecoating die. Accordingly, when the die portions are adjacent each other, they form a complete wirecoating die. In the preferred embodiment, the upper portion is moveable relative to the lower portion, which is fixed. Each portion is coupled to a support by a conduit through which resin can be supplied to the particular die portion. The upper portion is pivotally mounted to the support for movement between an upper position in which the die is open and a lower position in which the die is closed. This die is used in an in-line wirecoating process in which a strand is wirecoated downstream from a bushing during a fiber forming process.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2000Date of Patent: August 26, 2003Assignee: Owens-Corning Fiberglas Technology, Inc.Inventors: Hong Peng, James Laurence Thomason, Thomas Scot Miller
