  • Patent number: 11765096
Abstract: A network device may receive traffic to be processed by a routing component, and may determine temperatures of an ASIC and an HBM of the routing component at a first time. The network device may determine whether the temperature of the ASIC satisfies a first ASIC temperature threshold or a second ASIC temperature threshold, and may determine whether the temperature of the HBM satisfies a first HBM temperature threshold or a second HBM temperature threshold. The network device may selectively throttle processing of the traffic by a first quantity when the temperature of the ASIC satisfies the first ASIC temperature threshold or the temperature of the HBM satisfies the first HBM temperature threshold, or throttle the processing of the traffic by a second quantity when the temperature of the ASIC satisfies the second ASIC temperature threshold or the temperature of the HBM satisfies the second HBM temperature threshold.

  • Patent number: 9847911
Abstract: The disclosed system may include (1) a modular port concentrator that connects as a modular line card within a router to forward network packets, (2) a profile module, stored in memory, that stores an allowed port configuration profile that defines supported port configurations for the modular port concentrator, (3) a configuration module, stored in memory, that receives an attempted port configuration for the modular line card, (4) an enforcement module, stored in memory, that enforces the allowed port configuration profile by taking remedial action in response to determining that the allowed port configuration profile does not allow the attempted port configuration, and (5) at least one physical processor configured to execute the modular port concentrator, the profile module, the configuration module, and the enforcement module. Various other systems and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5914991
Abstract: Apparatus for synchronizing a reference clock signal received from a host system with an A/D converter clock signal generated in a data acquisition pod. The pod includes a decoder responsive to communication received from the host for extracting a host reference signal, and a clock signal source for developing an A/D reference clock signal having a frequency that is different from the frequency of the host reference signal. A pulse modifying digital phase-locked loop (PLL) is responsive to the A/D reference clock signal and the host reference signal for developing an A/D clock signal for an A/D converter in which one of its clock periods is periodically modified, thereby locking the rate at which the A/D converter develops samples to the rate at which the host system requests samples.

  • Patent number: 5444861
Abstract: An improved system is disclosed for downloading, verifying, and/or testing software from a remote programmer to an Electronic Engine Control ("E.E.C.") unit on a gas turbine engine. The invention includes a remote programmer that communicates with the E.E.C. unit through a serial communications link. The E.E.C. unit receives the communications through a serial memory that transmits them to a shared memory and on through a central processing unit ("C.P.U.") to a program memory. A redundant control circuit is controlled by the remote programmer and directs the E.E.C. unit through three operational modes. In a first, or download/verify, mode of operation, the E.E.C. unit may receive and store a boot program. In a second, or program memory, mode, the C.P.U. executes the boot program to allow the C.P.U. to read from and/or write to the program memory in response to communications from the serial channel. In a third, or normal, mode of operation, the C.P.U.
