  • Patent number: 6319417
Abstract: A filter is provided which uses a particle barrier with its “dirty” side flow path connected in series with a centrifuge. The “dirty” side flow path has an inlet and an outlet for delivering fluid with particles suspended therein under pressure against the “dirty” surface of the particle barrier. The barrier has a plurality of fluid passages through it which are sized to collect particles suspended in the fluid on the “dirty” surface of the barrier while passing some of the fluid through the barrier. A centrifuge serially connected to the outlet draws fluid containing suspended particles across the “dirty” surface to wash collected particles from the “dirty” surface of the barrier wall.

  • Patent number: 5643448
Abstract: A fluid filter cartridge is disclosed herein. The filter cartridge includes a generally tubular casing closed at one end and having at the opposite, open end, an annular member defining a filter element receiving aperture and provided with a single seal extending circumferentially of the casing and projecting axially away from the casing. The filter element includes a base ring and a generally tubular filter screen extending from the base ring to an end closure therefor. The base ring and tubular filter screen are dimensioned to fit within the filter receiving aperture. A removable connection is provided between the annular member and the base ring whereby the filter element is removably retained in the casing after rotation of the filter element about its axis relative to the axis of the casing.

  • Patent number: 4355964
Abstract: A gear pump (10) is disclosed having a housing (12) defining first and second gear cavities (38,40) and inlet and outlet ports (42,44). A pair of intermeshing gears (20,22) having a plurality of teeth (32) and teeth roots (36) are positioned in the cavities. A pair of bleed slots (50) are provided for directly communicating with the gear tooth roots and permitting entrained air and fluid thereat to be delivered away from the inlet and outlet ports. Advantageously, the bleed slots are located generally adjacent the breakaway points (46) of the respective cavities, and a pair of charging slots (62) are provided for communicating pressure from the outlet port with the gear teeth and encouraging movement of entrained air radially inwardly toward the bleed slots.
