  • Publication number: 20240151147
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an airfoil assembly for a turbine engine and methods of assembly thereof. The airfoil assembly generally includes a composite airfoil and a spar. The composite airfoil has a pressure side and a suction side extending in an axial direction between a leading edge and a trailing edge defining a chordwise direction and extending radially between a root and a tip defining a spanwise direction and having a span-length. The spar includes a first portion including a first material and a second portion joined at an interface with the first portion. The second portion further includes a second material, different from the first material, joined to the first portion at an interface. The method generally includes joining the first portion with the second portion at the interface; and assembling the spar with the composite airfoil.

  • Patent number: 8348347
Abstract: A vehicle head restraint assembly is provided with a cross member. A head restraint is supported by the cross member. A fixed locking member is mounted within the head restraint. A latch is moveably mounted on the cross member at a first latch position and at a second latch position. An actuator is mounted within the head restraint to move the latch between the first latch position and the second latch position. The head restraint is pivotable when the latch is in the second latch position. Another vehicle head restraint assembly is provided with a lateral support rod and a head restraint pivotally mounted thereon. A locking member is pivotally mounted within the head restraint. A latch is mounted on the support rod. An actuator disengages the locking member from the latch. A biasing member pivots the head restraint upon disengagement of the latch and the locking member.

  • Patent number: 7494027
Abstract: A dispenser package for dispensing flexible sheets from a plurality of stacks of releasably adhered sheets. A carrier member supports the plurality of stacks, and a lowermost sheet of each of the plurality of stacks is adhered to the carrier member. The carrier member and stacks thereon are positioned within an enclosure having a bottom wall, a top wall, and transverse side walls. The top wall defines a transverse slot, with a first end of an uppermost sheet of each of the plurality of stacks projecting through the slot. The transverse side walls of the enclosure are spaced from transverse side edges of the carrier member to afford end-to-end movement of the carrier member and stacks of sheets thereon within the chamber as sheets are dispensed.

  • Publication number: 20020092943
Abstract: A seat belt retractor comprising: a spool about which a seat belt is wound; a locking mechanism at least initially locking the spool against rotation and a primary force-limiting mechanism, such as a torsion bar for permitting the spool to rotate in a controlled manner subsequent to the locking of the spool and a secondary force-limiting mechanism located within a recess of the spool and comprised from portions of the spool and an adjacent portion of the locking mechanism for increasing the restraining force on the seat belt before the primary force-limiting mechanism becomes effective. The torsion bar is connected at one end to the spool and at its other end to the locking mechanism. The secondary locking mechanism includes a recess, keyway or slot and a projecting, breakable tab formed on one of the bore and an interfitting part of the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6297757
Abstract: A data processing system (20) includes a plurality of modules (44, 48) and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) (46). The ADC (46) includes at least one port terminal (66) for transmitting test information from the ADC (46). The plurality of modules (44,48) and the ADC (46) are coupled to a central processing unit (CPU) (22) via an intermodule bus (42). A tester can exchange test information with the ADC (46) directly through the port terminal (66) instead of using the intermodule bus (42). Also, various sub-modules (62, 64, 60, 74) of the ADC (46) can be independently tested without performing a conversion process.
