  • Patent number: 5724916
Abstract: A floor/wall matting suitable for but not limited to animal stables, stalls, floats, etc. The floor/wall matting comprises a compressible support layer covered with an upper cover layer of puncture resistant moisture impervious material. The matting is formed with a plurality of apertures sized to allow passage of animal waste or debris from the upper surface of the matting to a plurality of drainage channels extending along an underside of the matting. The matting provides excellent physical and thermal insulation and hygienic conditions. The inventive floor/wall matting may be used in conjunction with a flushing system positioned adjacent the drainage channels to flush waste and debris which has passed through the apertures of the matting out of the drainage channels to a septic or sewerage outlet.

  • Patent number: 4810008
Abstract: An improved lawn sprinkler fitting is provided for repairing leaks in lawn sprinkler systems and for replacing leaky components in such systems. The improved fitting of the invention is a tubular coupling having opposite annular ends formed with wall thicknesses which are sufficient to maintain the shape of predetermined circular openings therethrough. At least one intermediate annular corrugated section is disposed between the opposite ends and has a wall thickness less than the wall thickness of the opposite ends. The intermediate section is both longitudinally compressible and longitudinally extendible. The intermediate section of the coupling is compressed to allow the coupling to be inserted between exposed ends of buried lawn sprinkler pipe. A solvent type adhesive is applied to the exposed ends of the pipe and the intermediate section of the coupling is extended, thereby bringing the annular ends of the coupling into contact with the exposed ends of the buried pipe.
