  • Patent number: 6959206
Abstract: A system handles both reception signals collected via an antenna and transmission signals generated by a communication station for transmission via the antenna. The system includes a cryostat, a receive path carrying the reception signals and disposed in the cryostat, and a transmit path carrying the transmission signals. The receive path and the transmit path are coupled between the system and the antenna and between the system and the communication station. Accordingly, the receive path is duplexed with the transmit path such that the front-end system has a first single input/output connection for coupling the front-end system to the antenna and a second single input/output connection for coupling the front-end system to the communication station.

  • Patent number: 6487416
Abstract: A method and system for controlling downtilt of an antenna in a sector of a cell of a code division multiple access (CDMA) network utilizes dynamic application of antenna downtilt based on estimated relative sector capacity. In the method, current network conditions are monitored, relative sector capacity is estimated, and an antenna downtilt is selected. The selected antenna downtilt is dynamically applied to the antenna. Preferably, antenna downtilt is selected so as to effectively maximize relative sector capacity.

  • Patent number: 6389284
Abstract: A system and method for controlling network access for a wireless user subscriber unit having a device identity that utilizes listen-before-talk techniques. A base station is configured to transmit a set of device identities corresponding to a set of valid subscriber units. A user subscriber unit is configured to listen for a device identity corresponding to the user subscriber unit. Further, the user subscriber unit is configured to transmit a request for network access upon receiving the device identity corresponding to the user subscriber unit when network access is desired.
