  • Publication number: 20160305586
Abstract: A manifold assembly has a manifold and can be located between a block and a plate, and serve as a stator for a valve or other component. The manifold, block or plate can have a plurality of ports either integral thereto or removably connected thereto, with the ports adapted to receive and sealingly engage with a tube having an inner tube layer, an outer tube layer, a sleeve, a tip portion, and a nut. Each of the nut, sleeve, inner and outer tubing layers, and tip portion have a passageway therethrough, with at least the passageways in the sleeve, tip portion, outer tube layer, and nut adapted to allow the inner tube layer to pass therethrough or extend over the inner layer. The ends of the tip portion and inner layer together can define a substantially flat surface which can form a seal in a flat-bottomed port of the manifold, block, or plate, which can be used in a component in an analytical instrument system, including for example a liquid chromatography system.

  • Patent number: 9151943
Abstract: An imaging system with an imaging mechanism which includes polarization analyzers, which may be crossed polarization analyzers, positioned to provide birefringence images of particles in the fluid passing through the flow chamber. Captured images are of high resolution and may be used in comparison to known images of a library of images. The system and related method enhance the accuracy and sensitivity of particle monitoring by utilizing birefringence imaging combined with particle analysis and the detection of each particle's characteristic features, such as crystalline features. The system includes a scatter detector used to trigger backlighting of the flow chamber and capture images of particles therein.

  • Publication number: 20140279409
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for recommending a payment vehicle for a transaction, retroactively. In this way, the invention provides retroactive payment vehicle recommendation after the transaction has occurred based on criteria from customer inputs, customer in-flows, and customer out-flows. In this way, the customer may complete a transaction with a merchant using a temporary line of credit. Subsequently the system may apply the transaction to the determined recommended payment vehicle. Then the temporary line of credit may be terminated.

  • Publication number: 20140278897
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for recommending payment vehicles for a transaction on a product-by-product basis based on available rewards for each product. In this way, the customer may complete a transaction with a merchant using a temporary line of credit. The invention may then apply individual products of the transaction to different recommended payment vehicles based on the maximum rewards each product may receive if applied to that payment vehicle. Once each product of the transaction has been reassigned to a recommended payment vehicle, the temporary line of credit may be terminated.

  • Publication number: 20140279505
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for recommending payment vehicles for a transaction based on social network data. Embodiments of the invention allow a customer to receive a recommended payment vehicle for a transaction with a merchant where the recommended payment vehicle is determined based on social network data. In this way, a payment recommendation may be based on one or more preferences of a trusted advisor, social network friend, family member, celebrity, or an aggregation of data related to how a group of individuals on a social network are selecting payment vehicles for various merchants. The invention may review this social network data and provide the customer with a payment vehicle recommendation for a transaction with a merchant.

  • Patent number: 7375894
Abstract: A common lens HMD is shown and described. The use of a common lens in a biocular or binocular helmet mounted display (HMD) system provides a means to manipulate light rays from an image(s) which are traveling from two or more separate upstream optics trains to the helmet visor and onward to each eye, with fields of view which overlap at the midpoint of the visor. The common lens changes the optical paths of each individual ray going to a single eye, and changes the corresponding ray traveling to the other eye in a mirrored fashion (i.e. with the opposite component in the Left/Right direction).

  • Patent number: 7367606
Abstract: Disclosed is a covering system that includes plural supports and a cable. The cable may be advanced or retracted. The cable is connected, preferably by a fixed support, to a portion of the cover, whereby the cover may be advanced or retracted by moving the cable. At least some, preferably all, of the supports other than the terminal support are disposed in collars, the collars for the non-connected supports being threaded onto the cable. The collars and supports may be decoupled to permit removal of a support without the need to un-thread the collar and without the need to disturb other supports. The collars include plural separable cable sleeve portions that may be decoupled from one another to permit removal of the collar from the cable without un-threading the cable from other supports.
