Abstract: A social media platform can enable a user to promote and organize events in an automated manner. In some cases, a user can specify one or more interest categories pertaining to, relevant to, and/or otherwise associated with the event. Further, the interest categories that are specified by the user for a particular event can be used to automatically recommend or suggest that event to one or more other users. In some cases, the social media platform can automatically suggest or recommend a particular event based on the interest categories selected by the users who indicated that they plan to attend the event.

Abstract: A computing platform is configured to: (i) receive, from a first client station, a data file; (ii) obtain metadata associated with the data file; (iii) determine, based on at least a first set of metadata from the obtained metadata associated with the data file, a naming structure to use for the data file; (iv) generate, based on the determined naming structure and at least a second set of metadata from the obtained metadata, a proposed name for the data file; and (v) transmit, to a second client station, a communication identifying the proposed name and thereby cause an indication of the proposed name for the data file to be presented at a user interface of the second client station.

By using multiple user aliases, the user can selectively control the dissemination of information to other users. For instance, a user can establish two different user aliases on the social media platform, and use each of the user aliases to perform different social media actions. The user can use the user aliases to present different information regarding himself, publish different content, and/or interact with different groups of users.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of processing digital video is provided. The method includes determining at least one frame region the contents of which would be rendered substantially invisible, were frames of the digital video to be subjected to a predetermined texture-mapping onto a predetermined geometry; and inserting non-image data into at least one selected frame by modifying contents within at least one determined frame region of the selected frame. Another computer-implemented method of processing digital video is provided. The method includes, for each of a plurality of frames of the digital video: processing contents in one or more predetermined regions of the frame to extract non-image data therefrom; subjecting the frame to a predetermined texture-mapping onto a predetermined geometry, wherein after the texture-mapping the contents of the one or more predetermined regions are rendered substantially invisible; and causing the texture-mapped frame to be displayed.

Abstract: In an example method, a system receives a social media event template including template social media event content and an indication of a recurring schedule. The system generates a series of social media event items in a calendar database based on the social media event template. The system receives a command indicating a modified recurring schedule for the social media event template. In response, the system identifies a particular social media event item that has been previously modified but has a start time that has not been modified. The system generates a notification to the controlling user of the particular social media event item to provide a modified start time for the particular social media event item.
