Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for providing revisional delta billing and re-billing in a dynamic project environment. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes capturing data points associated with a first billing at a first point in time, capturing data points associated with a second billing at a second point in time, comparing the data points captured at the first and second points in time; and generating a revisional delta bill based on differences between the data points captured at the first and second points in time.

Abstract: Under the present invention, an initial distribution list of electronic message recipients within an organization undergoing an IT migration is generated using a personnel directory of the organization and at least one selection criterion. Once initial electronic message recipients are known, messages will be generated and sent using information from a mailing database and a designated schedule. User records for each of the initial electronic message recipients will be created in an inventory database and will include user information from the personnel directory as well as message information. Based on responses to the initial electronic message, follow-up and final electronic messages can be sent to respective distribution lists, and corresponding information stored in the user records of the inventory database.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for conditional rule-based billing with real-time error checking and for on-demand segmented labor recovery and reporting. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: providing a record in a database for a device to be serviced; providing a record in the database for a customer associated with the device to be serviced; updating the record of the device in response to a servicing of the device, wherein the record for the serviced device is updated to reflect: materials and labor required for the servicing of the device; an indication of a completion of the servicing; and a completion date of the servicing; determining if all of a predetermined set of conditions required for proper billing have been met, upon completion of the servicing of the device; and billing for the servicing of the device only if all of the predetermined set of conditions have been met.

Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-implemented method, system, and program product for forecasting the availability of resources in an information technology (IT) migration. More specifically, under the present invention, an IT migration schedule is received and a future availability of a resource is forecasted from the migration schedule. The forecast period may be user-defined. In addition, under the present invention, the migration schedule received may be altered based on the forecasted resource availability.

Abstract: Under the present invention, an IT migration and corresponding information collection are conducted in a single visit. A directory such as an electronic mail directory of an organization (i.e., for which the IT migration is being performed) is first analyzed to identify contacts (e.g., employees) for the IT migration. Then, a message is sent to each of the contacts containing instructions for the IT migration. The instructions will typically include, among other things, a schedule for performing the IT migration. Thereafter, each of the contacts is visited according to the schedule(s) with all components needed to perform the IT migration. At the single visit, the IT migration will be performed and inventory information collected for each of the contacts that are present when visited. Finally, transaction details corresponding to the IT migration and the inventory information are recorded.

Specifically, the present invention provides a centralized/integrated system to receive and manage all data related to an IT migration. In addition, the present invention provides customized electronic views containing subsets of data that can be generated based on roles of users requesting the view. Still yet, the present invention allows data shown in an electronic view of be modified.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for demographic reporting of billable project activity. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: capturing all billable project activity data associated with an information technology (IT) migration project in a database; organizing the billable project activity data into a plurality of billable project activity reports, based on selected demographic criteria; and selecting and displaying a billable project activity report in a user interface (UI).

Abstract: Under the present invention an identifier for a computer system undergoing an IT migration is extracted from a pertinent field the record. Thereafter, a mapping table is consulted. The mapping table generally contains entries that associate computer system identifiers with identifiers of hardware components that have been installed (or are to be installed) in the computer systems. Using the computer system identifier extracted from the record, an associated hardware component identifier is determined from the mapping table, and automatically populated into a corresponding field (e.g., a hardware component field) of the record. Thus, the present invention avoids having to manually populate the hardware component identifier into the record.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and program product for automatically extracting information (e.g., address information) from an identifier (e.g., a network port identifier). Specifically, under the present invention, a set of identifier parsing rules are applied to an identifier to determine sets of characters in the identifier that represent distinct pieces of information. Thereafter, a set of translation rules are applied to the sets of characters to translate the sets of characters into the distinct pieces of information. Once translated, the pieces of information can be electronically stored for later use. In addition, the present invention provides views of the sets of rules so that they can be observed and/or edited.

Abstract: A method and system for uniformly displaying and reporting uniform project completion information, such as uniform earned value measurements (EV), of a large-scale project having a number of individual subprojects. A set of EV Calculation Rules are defined and used as a guide in creating the uniform EVs. The uniform EVs are calculated, then reported. The EV Calculation Rules used to calculate the uniform EVs include an identification of components of the databases required, the locations of these components and the mathematical formulae used to combine these components. On-demand, scheduled and/or event agents implement the rules to create the EV reports.

Abstract: Under the present invention, index keys are generated for a set of documents. This is typically accomplished by examining the set of documents, and connecting data values extracted from the set of documents to yield the index keys. Once the index keys are generated, an index view will be generated into which the index keys are populated. Using the index keys in the index view, an agent will automatically obtain the set of documents (i.e., in the background). Then, when a user requests one of the documents, the document will already have been retrieved from storage. As such, it can readily be provided to the user. It should be understood that as used herein, the term “document” is intended to refer to any type of electronically stored data.

Abstract: Under the present invention, a distribution list of message recipients within an organization undergoing the IT migration is generated by analyzing the infrastructure of the organization. Once the message recipients are known, they can be grouped into a set of mailing groups. Thereafter, specific message templates can be assigned to each group, and a schedule for sending messages to the message recipients can be set. Messages will then be generated and sent to the message recipients using the message templates assigned to their respective mailing group(s) and the schedule. Responses to the messages will be tracked and processed, and records associated with the message recipients will be updated based thereon. Follow-up messages containing additional questions and/or instructions can be generated and sent using any data that is contained in the responses. Also, “non-responses” can be tracked so that reminder messages can be sent.
