  • Publication number: 20120099954
Abstract: A method and system for handling granular material, such as proppant used in hydraulic fracturing in well drilling, is provided. In an operational configuration, a delivery module having conveyors receives and conveys granular material to a delivery location, and one or more mobile storage modules receive, hold and dispense granular material downward to the delivery module. The mobile storage modules comprise a raised, angular container portion for holding granular material. Each module may comprise a rock-over chassis for support against ground. In a transportation configuration, each of the delivery modules and mobile storage modules are separately transportable as semi-trailers. System redundancy features such as hydraulic power packs are also provided for.

  • Patent number: 7069124
Abstract: Robotic systems for modeling, mapping and exploring subterranean void spaces such as mines, caves, tunnels, bunkers, and conduits. Robotic modeling of subterranean voids is generally enabled by a procedural system consisting of preprocessing, ingress, void modeling, mapping and navigation, exploration, conveying payloads other than void modeling sensors, egress, and post processing. The robots can either be imposed mobility or can be self mobile with either autonomous, remote, teleoperated, or manual modes of operation. The robot may optionally transform from a compact size into a more conventional operating size if the operating size exceeds the void entry opening size. Void geometries with flat floors are amenable to robot locomotion such as rolling, crawling, walking or swimming. Alternatively, irregular floor geometries that preclude self mobilization may be accessible by imposed mobilization such as dropping or pushing a movable robotic sensor into such voids.

  • Patent number: 6933388
Abstract: There is provided a process for the preparation of 3-cyano-6-alkoxy-7-nitro-4-quinolone intermediates useful for the preparation of protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitors which are useful in the treatment of cancer of the formula: wherein R is alkyl(C1-C3) prepared by reacting a substituted anthranilate with N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyacetal to obtain a N,N-dimethylamidine which is condensed with t-butylcyanoacetate to obtain a N-(2-cyano-2-t-butoxycarbonylvinyl)anthranilate, which is hydrolyzed to yield a N-(2-cyano-2-carboxyvinyl)anthranilate followed by decarboxylating to obtain a N-(2-cyano-2-carboxyvinyl)anthranilate followed by cyclizing to obtain a 3-cyano-6-alkoxy-7-nitro-4-quinolone.

  • Publication number: 20050147032
Abstract: In a packet-based network node, traffic management functions are apportioned between an upstream device and a connected queuing device. The upstream device is responsible for receiving packets and optionally discarding them. The queuing device is responsible for enqueuing undiscarded packets into queues pending transmission, computing the congestion states of the queues, and communicating the congestion states to the upstream device. The upstream device bases its optional discarding on these computed congestion states and, optionally, on discard probabilities and an aggregate congestion level, which may also be computed by the queuing device. The upstream device may additionally mark packets as having experienced congestion based on congestion indication states, which may further be computed by the queuing device. Any statistics maintained by the upstream device may reflect packets discarded for any reason (e.g. at both OSI layers 2 and 3).

  • Publication number: 20050081710
Abstract: A fluid pressure cylinder assembly is provided with a sensor for sensing the extension of a piston rod from a tubular cylinder. The tubular cylinder has a base block that seals the end of the tubular cylinder with an inner wall. The inner wall has a threaded bore for receiving the sensor housing, which has an elongated sensor rod passing into an axial bore in the piston rod. The piston rod carries a sensor element that moves relative to the elongated sensor rod. The inner wall is at an inner end of an access bore in the base block. The sensor is threaded into a bore in the inner wall using a socket that has a slot to permit a sensor lead to extend to the exterior of the socket and out of the access bore so the lead rotates with the socket in the access bore while the sensor is tightened in place. The base block is provided with a slot that extends to the exterior of the base block so that when installed the sensor lead can be extended out through the slot for connection to suitable controls.

  • Patent number: 5211273
Abstract: A unidirectional clutch of the hyperboloidal type is provided having an inner race member defining an inner race surface, an outer race member defining an outer race surface and a plurality of thrust transmitting cylindrical rollers therebetween. Each of the rollers makes line contact with the inner race surface and line contact with the outer race surface along generators of these surfaces. A biasing member is provided for biasing the inner and outer race surfaces axially toward one another to maintain the rollers in line contact with both inner and outer race surfaces. The inner race member is connected to a driven member and the outer race member is connected to a driving member. Torque is transmitted between the driven and driving members causing the biasing member to impose a net axial force on the inner race member tending to urge the inner and outer race surfaces toward one another axially.
