Patent number: 11685493Abstract: A fluid propulsion system configured to propel an ambient fluid through a propulsion channel. To do so, the present invention includes a hollow main body having a propulsion channel extending therethrough. The main body includes a base structure, a flexible bladder attached thereto, and a fluid (e.g., liquid, gas, or plasma) enclosed within the bladder. The present invention further includes a field source that produces an electromagnetic or magnetic field. The bladder and/or the enclosed fluid is configured to respond to the electromagnetic or magnetic field. Movement of the bladder in response to energization of the field sources alters a degree of occlusion of the propulsion channel. Energizing sequential field sources causes the occluded section of the bladder to propel the ambient fluid through the propulsion channel creating a reactionary force to propel the fluid propulsion system in the opposite direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2021Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: Hyalta Aeronautics, Inc.Inventor: Scott R. Kempshall

Patent number: 11305863Abstract: The present invention is a variable geometry aircraft that is capable of morphing its shape from a symmetric cross-section buoyant craft to an asymmetric lifting body and even to a symmetric zero lift configuration. The aircraft may include variable span, length, and camber. The variability of the structure and the flexible envelope allows the aircraft to adjust its aspect ratio along with the camber of the upper and/or lower surfaces to achieve varying shapes. This transformation changes both the lift and drag characteristics of the craft and may be accomplished while the craft is airborne.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: April 19, 2022Assignee: Hyalta Aeronautics, Inc.Inventor: Scott R. Patent number: 11058246Abstract: A bag clamp having retention arms, capable of rotating about a pivoting axis between an open and closed position. The retention arms are connected to a locking mechanism configured to prevent the retention arms from pivoting to an open configuration when the locking mechanism is in an engaged setting. The arms are shaped to create an open receiving space. The open receiving space allows the bag clamp to receive a rigid structure to clamp onto while also receiving a bag's straps.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2019Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: Qoi Products LLCInventors: Scott R. Patent number: 9526366Abstract: A bag clamp having at least two coaxial retention arms, capable of rotating about a pivoting axis between an open and closed position. The retention arms are connected to a mechanism housing that has an ability to lock and release the retention arms at various degrees of rotation about the pivoting axis. The arms have a shape such that there are only two possible points of contact between the arms to create an open receiving space. The open receiving space allows the bag clamp to receive a rigid structure to clamp onto while also receiving a bag's straps.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Inventors: Scott R.
