  • Patent number: 7398664
Abstract: A handle and housing assembly includes a housing having front and rear sides. A handle is connected on the front side of the housing to a shaft that extends through the housing along a forwardly-rearwardly extending axis. The handle may be used to turn the shaft, to turn components connected to a rear portion of the shaft, and/or to move shaft-connected components forwardly and rearwardly along the axis of the shaft. In some embodiments, the housing defines a forwardly facing recess, and the handle is nestable within and extendable from the recess. In some embodiments, the handle is nestable within the recess in a variety of orientations. In some embodiments, housing-defined stop formations limit the range through which a shaft-connected component is permitted to turn. In some embodiments, housing-defined formations guide movement of a lock bolt that may engage a shaft-connected component to retain the shaft, the handle and the shaft-connected component in one or a plurality of orientations.

  • Patent number: 6487889
Abstract: A tube bender for bending tubes of different diameters selectively and one at a time is disclosed. The bender has a pair of pivotally connected handles respectively connected to a form wheel and a form shoe. The wheel has a plurality of tube engagement grooves, the grooves each being generally arcuate in cross section in both axial and orthogonal planes of coss section. The shoe includes a plurality of grooves of arcuate cross section in an axial plane. Each of the shoe grooves is complemental with a different and associated one of the wheel grooves. A tube holder is adjustably positioned in fixed relationship with the wheel when a tubular work piece is engaging one of the grooves in a bending operation.

  • Patent number: 6463780
Abstract: A tube bender including a mandrel component having an arcuately curved recess of at least 180 degrees is disclosed. An anchor connected to the mandrel for securing a tube in the recess. A tube former is rotatably connected to the mandrel. The former has a tube engaging surface for engaging a surface of a tube disposed in and in engagement with the recess. The former and recess are positioned to engage opposite sides of a positioned tube. The mandrel and former are relatively rotatable about an axis that is coaxial with a groove axis. A mandrel handle is connected to the mandrel and a tube former handle is connected to the former. The former handle is rotatable between 90 degree and 180 degree bend positions relative to the former selectively to provide good leverage for 90 degree bends and over 90 degree bends.

  • Patent number: 6378403
Abstract: A pair of convertible pliers capable of switching between a first configuration suitable for use with external retaining rings to a second configuration suitable for use with internal retaining rings. The pliers convert from external to internal by operation of a pair of pins disposed in the jaws and capable of being maneuvered by a cam surface inside a knob on the tool such that the tool is convertible from a first position where movement of the handles inward causes the jaws to move inward to a second position where movement of the handles inward causes the jaws to move outward.

  • Patent number: 5909830
Abstract: An electrically actuated material dispensing gun is disclosed having a body including a handle section and an elongate cartridge support section extending outwardly from the handle section. The cartridge support section includes a cartridge support space and an apertured end wall for receiving a cartridge dispensing nozzle and for dispensing force resisting engagement with a dispensing end of a cartridge positioned in the space. A reciprocatable push rod is carried by the handle section and axially aligned with the space for force transmitting engagement with a piston which in one embodiment is of unique construction. An electric motor is mounted in the handle section. A drive element is rotatively mounted in the handle section and in positive drive, mechanically interconnected, relationship with the rod. The drive element is normally freely rotatable in response to axial motion of the rod. A power train including a multi-stage planetary axially aligned with and connected to the output shaft of the motor.
