The system includes an input module configured to receive a first input data indicating a first value of a first parameter, a first feature database that includes a plurality of feature settings, a feature search module configured to search the first feature database and select a feature setting based on the first value of the first parameter, a central database that includes a plurality of rules governing a design layout of a fuselage, and an optimizing module in communication with the central database and configured to generate an optimal design layout based on the selected feature setting.

Abstract: A personal service unit pod assembly configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The personal service unit pod assembly includes a personal service unit pod and a panel positioned directly above and affixed to the personal service unit pod. The pod includes a housing with a lens assembly and a pod interior, a first reading light positioned within the pod interior and configured to shine light below the bottom of the housing, and cabin lighting positioned in the housing and configured to shine light through the lens assembly and above the housing. The panel includes connectors that are configured to secure the personal service unit pod assembly to a component within the aircraft.

Abstract: A lavatory monument assembly configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The modular lavatory monument assembly includes first, second, third and fourth walls that cooperate to form an enclosure that defines a lavatory interior, a door positioned on one of the first, second, third, or fourth walls, and an opening on the fourth side that is open to an exterior of the enclosure. A seat is at least partially positioned in the opening. The seat includes a seat back and a seat portion that is pivotal between a storage position and a deployed position. In the deployed position the seat portion extends outside of the opening.

Abstract: A latch system that includes a paddle button assembly having a button that is movable between a home position and an actuation position, a first latch assembly that includes a first striker assembly and a first hook assembly, and a first cable that extends between the paddle button assembly and the first latch assembly. Movement of the button from the home position to the actuation position moves the first cable, thereby disengaging the first hook assembly and the first striker assembly.

Abstract: A door module for a vehicle lavatory that includes a bi-fold door having a first panel and a second panel each having an inner surface and an outer surface. The first and second panels are pivotably connected together by a living hinge. The living hinge includes a hinge member that extends between first and second securing members, wherein the first securing member extends along and is attached to an inner edge of the first panel and the second securing member extends along and is attached to an inner edge of the second panel.

Abstract: An aircraft storage bin that includes an upper housing, and a bucket pivotally connected to the upper housing that cooperates with the upper housing to define a bin interior. The bucket includes a bottom, a front edge, first and second opposing side walls extending upwardly from the bottom and a center of gravity. The bucket pivots about a pivot axis with respect to the upper housing between an open position and a closed position. The center of gravity of the bucket is positioned below the pivot axis when the bucket is in the closed position.

Abstract: A modular lavatory monument assembly configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The modular lavatory monument assembly includes first, second, third and fourth walls that cooperate to form an outer shell that defines a lavatory interior. The fourth wall includes an alcove extending outwardly therefrom. The assembly also includes a sink module positioned in the alcove, a mirror module positioned above the sink module in the alcove, and a door positioned on one of the second or third walls.

Abstract: A monument configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft that includes first, second, third and fourth sides and first and second lavatories spaced apart from one another by at least a portion of a galley storage section that is open to the first side. The first and second sides are opposite to one another and the third and fourth sides are opposite to one another. The first lavatory defines a first lavatory interior and includes a first toilet therein and the second lavatory defines a second lavatory interior and includes a second toilet therein.

Abstract: A pivot bin assembly configured to receive luggage and be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The pivot bin assembly includes an upper housing that includes a strongback and first and second side panels, a bucket that cooperates with the upper housing to define a bin interior, a first pivot mechanism operatively associated with the first side panel and the bucket, and a second pivot mechanism operatively associated with the second side panel and the bucket. The first and second pivot mechanisms are axially aligned along a pivot axis such that the bucket pivots about the pivot axis with respect to the upper housing between an open position and a closed position.

The second panel includes a plurality of rib members formed therein that extend inwardly. The rib members include an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface of the rib members are secured to the inner surface of the first panel, and the inner surface of the panel portions is spaced apart from the inner surface of the first panel to define at least first and second cavities.

The first horizontal distance is greater than the second horizontal distance.

The lounge assembly includes a first seat shell configured to at least partially surround a passenger seat, and an overhead storage bin assembly. The overhead storage bin assembly includes first and second posts configured to be secured to a floor of the aircraft, and an overhead bin housing supported by the first and second posts. The overhead bin housing includes at least a first overhead storage bin that is positioned generally above the first seat shell.

Abstract: An aircraft lounge assembly that includes an enclosure having a rear wall, first and second side walls and a forward wall that cooperate to define a seating area. The lounge assembly also includes first and second seats positioned in the seating area, and a first dividing wall positioned between the first and second seats. The first dividing wall divides the seating area into a first seat section and a second seat section. The front wall includes a shared entrance space defined therein. A first seat path is defined between the shared entrance space and the first seat section and a second seat path is defined between the shared entrance space and the second seat section.

Abstract: A PSU pod assembly that is configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The PSU pod assembly includes a PSU pod that includes a housing that includes a top, a bottom and first, second, third and fourth sides that cooperate to define a pod interior and a panel positioned above and connected to the PSU pod. The PSU pod includes at least first and second reading lights positioned within the pod interior that are configured to shine light below the housing and cabin lights positioned on or in the housing that are configured to shine light above the housing. The panel includes connectors that are configured to secure the PSU pod assembly to a component within the aircraft.
