  • Patent number: 10042911
Abstract: Methods and arrangements for discovering entity types for a set of records. A set of records is input, with each record comprising attributes with associated attribute values. The records are grouped into candidate entity types in view of at least one of: the attribute values of the records, at least one domain ontology and at least one dimension hierarchy. An interestingness measure of each candidate entity type is calculated, via estimating interestingness based on at least one factor selected from the group consisting of: a correlation between attribute values of records, a number of attributes, a log of queries issued to a server, and an average group size for candidate entity types. At least one candidate entity type is validated based on the calculated interestingness measures. Other variants and embodiments are broadly contemplated herein.

  • Publication number: 20180173795
Abstract: An ontology is automatically generated for a set of data from multiple data sources. A semantic network of known concepts serves as an ontology template for a target domain of knowledge with known concepts defined as base entity types. Logical groupings of data and associated technical metadata are read from the data sources. Data discovery techniques are applied to detect semantic and/or syntactic classification of data attributes in the logical groupings of data. For each of the logical groupings of data, an entity type with properties for the data attributes are generated and the generated entity type is added to the semantic network with classifications of the properties as derived from the applied data discovery techniques. Semantic meanings of the generated entity types are generated and associated with other entity types within the semantic network and the semantic network is output as a resultant ontology for the set of data.

  • Publication number: 20180153698
Abstract: Systems and methods for joint preparation and fusion are disclosed. The system includes a cutting device having a handle, and rigid blade member. The blade member may include cutting edges on first and second sides, and may be curved in one or more planes. The blade member may be deployed to project outside of an outer tube, and the cutting device may be rotated to create a circular cavity. In a method of use, a cannula provides access to a procedure site such as a joint. A pathway to the joint is created, and the cutting device is inserted and deployed to undercut a cavity in the joint. A fusion device may be implanted across the joint to provide compression and fuse the joint. The system may also include instrumentation for creating access to a joint, bone graft insertion and implant insertion.

  • Publication number: 20180121535
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for centrally processing data records using a record linkage algorithm. The method comprises providing a centralized master repository for storing data records in a predefined data structure having a set of attributes. At least one clustering metric is provided. Clusters of records may be determined using a clustering function that is based on the at least one clustering metric. For each particular cluster, a set of configuration data for the record linkage algorithm may be defined based on a value of the clustering metric within that particular cluster. The individual data records may be assigned to one or more clusters of the clusters using the clustering metric values and the record linkage algorithm may be applied to a set of two or more individual data records assigned to at least one common cluster using the set of configuration data for the common cluster.

  • Patent number: 9946808
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method to determine whether to perform entity resolution on vertices in an entity graph. A determination is made of pairs of records in a database having a relationship value satisfying a threshold. An entity relationship graph has a vertex for each of the records of the pairs and an edge between two vertices. Each vertex has a self-information score based on content in the record, an initial unique entity identifier, and an entity information score. For each subject vertex of the vertices, a determination is made of a target vertex directly connected to the subject vertex that has a highest entity information score and whether to set the subject vertex entity identifier and entity information score to the entity identifier and entity information score of the target vertex based on the target vertex self-information score.

  • Patent number: 9852166
Abstract: Task patterns may exist in completed tasks within a task handling system. A task pattern may comprise task data and metadata and an action that the task handling system uses to complete the task. A task pattern may be identified and compared with task patterns in a database. If the identified task pattern matches a task in the database, a task pattern count for the task in the database can be incremented. If this incrementing results in the task pattern count exceeding a threshold, then the system can search for and identify other active tasks that match the task pattern. The appropriate action for the task pattern can be applied to each of the matched active tasks and each of the active tasks can then be closed.

  • Patent number: 9817888
Abstract: A method for supplementing structured information within a data system for entities based on unstructured data analyzes a document with unstructured data and extracts attribute values from the unstructured data for one or more entities of the data system. Entity records with structured information are retrieved from the data system based on the extracted attribute values. Entity references for corresponding entities of the data system are constructed based on a comparison of the retrieved entity records and the extracted attribute values. The entity references are linked to the corresponding entities within the data system, with the entity references including extracted attributes from the unstructured data for corresponding linked entities.

  • Publication number: 20170303972
Abstract: An implant for fusing a joint between first and second bone portions. The implant includes a screw member, and a washer polyaxially rotatable relative to the screw member. The screw member includes a head, a lag zone, and a threaded engagement zone. The implant includes a fusion zone for joint compression, extending from the washer to the proximal end of the engagement zone. Fenestrations may be present in the fusion zone. The length of the fusion zone ranges from about 10 mm to about 37 mm. Different surface finishes including roughened and non-roughened may be applied selectively to selected portions of the implant. In an embodiment, the joint is a sacro-iliac joint, and upon implantation the implant extends from the exterior of the ilium, across the joint and into the sacral vertebral body. Instrumentation and methods for preparing the joint and implanting the implant are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9734174
Abstract: A digital object provider creates an object, such as an offer, and associates container-specific handlers with the object so that the object can be associated with a specific container. An object management application manages receives and displays the object on a user computing device, along with a first user control option to associate the object with a container. When the user selects the first option, the object management application relies on the associated container-specific handlers to determine which containers are available for associating the object. The object management application provides the user with a second control option, from which the user selects one or more of the available containers with which to associate the object. Based on the user's selection, the object management application communicates the object to the selected containers, such as for storage in the container. The container receives the object and associates the object with the container.

  • Patent number: 9639739
Abstract: Facial image bucketing is disclosed, whereby a query for facial image recognition compares the facial image against existing candidate images. Rather than comparing the facial image to each candidate image, the candidate images are organized or clustered into buckets according to their facial similarities, and the facial image is then compared to the image(s) in most-likely one(s) of the buckets. The organizing uses particular selected facial features, computes distance between the facial features, and selects ones of the computed distances to determine which facial images should be organized into the same bucket.
