  • Patent number: 9916764
Abstract: A common operating environment (COE) display system for vehicle operations, such as for air transport provides coordination of logistics information with dispatch or a controller. An operational plan, such as a flight plan or other operational plan describing vehicle deployment is stored, and a map visualization system displays a map region. An in-vehicle display depicts the operational plan, providing displays of current and projected operational conditions of the vehicle within different time phases of the operational plan. Communication as either text or other data allows transmission can be performed as text, attachments or a combination of text and attachments. Messages (text) and attachments (files) are exchanged only through the server, and the items exchanged are recorded for analysis and forensic purposes.

An in-vehicle display depicts the operational plan, providing displays of current and projected operational conditions of the vehicle within different time phases of the operational plan. Transfer of updates of the operational plan is performed without replacing substantial portions of the stored data for the operational plan, allowing synchronization of the operational plan with a remotely located facility. The system permits a controller or dispatcher to screen share the in-vehicle display based on information previously stored, as updated by the updates, and permits review of the modified operational plan.

  • Patent number: 9564055
Abstract: An aviation flight planning system is used for predicting and warning for intersection of flight paths with transported meteorological disturbances, such as transported turbulence and related phenomena. Sensed data and transmitted data provide real time and forecast data related to meteorological conditions. Data modelling transported meteorological disturbances are applied to the received transmitted data and the sensed data to use the data modelling transported meteorological disturbances to correlate the sensed data and received transmitted data. The correlation is used to identify transported meteorological disturbances source characteristics, and identify predicted transported meteorological disturbances trajectories from source to intersection with flight path in space and time.

  • Patent number: 9344486
Abstract: A system for collaborative decision-making and more efficient disaster management, in which multiple geobrowsers can communicate over local networks and/or the Internet to create a real collaborative experience when dealing with geospatial information, distributed using Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant KML/KMZ formats, WMS (Web Mapping Service), or and geospatial data files. All manipulation functions (dataset loading, layer stacking, layer visibility changes, Point of View (POV) changes, map extent changes, looping and animation settings, geospatial file creation and annotation drawing, and other functions) are replicated across all connected geobrowsers to create a true collaborative geospatial Common Operating Picture (COP). The leadership role can be handed over to other users if desired to build upon all the datasets and annotations sent by previous leads.

  • Patent number: 8392853
Abstract: Method, system, and software for performing independent operations with and upon N-Dimensional spatial and temporal objects displayed in virtual and real visualization systems. The technique applies user selected points or regions of interest in the visualization system to identify corresponding points or regions on transparent focus objects which describe the visualized objects, and which intersect the user's topological line of sight. The resulting set of points or regions are then used to extract information from the focus objects, which provide additional information on object content or location of related file systems. The transparent interface provides intrinsic operations which can be applied directly to the focus objects, or coupling mechanisms to external user applications, to process, manipulate or transform focus objects in either the transparent interface or the visualization system.

  • Patent number: 5265024
Abstract: A system and process for providing systematic, updated, weather information from the ground to the pilot of an aircraft are disclosed. A ground station receives and assimilates weather data for satellite broadcast as digital weather data that is received by an aircraft (while on the ground or while airborne) within the satellite coverage area, encoded by a flight processor, and shown on a display screen to the pilot in map-type depictions and alpha-numeric format tailored to the operational needs of the pilot. The flight processor provides near real-time automatic processing and comparison of surface weather observations with the applicable forecast in both text and map depictions. The display screen information is controlled by a control panel that permits the pilot to select the departure, destination, alternate and any arbitrary airport with this selection establishing the map boundaries and with the projected flight path marked thereon.
