  • Patent number: 10916985
Abstract: A method of forming a stator assembly, including providing a stator with a plurality of slots and a plurality of conductors configured to be inserted into the plurality of slots. The method includes obtaining a respective first shape for the plurality of conductors such that the plurality of conductors in the respective first shape forms concentric arcs sharing a common center. Obtaining the respective first shape includes forming a respective first portion, a respective second portion and a respective turn portion between the respective first portion and respective second portion. The method includes obtaining a respective second shape for the plurality of conductors, including: bending the respective first portion at a respective first bend to obtain a respective first leg and a respective first arm, and bending the respective second portion at a respective second bend to obtain a respective second leg and a respective second arm.

  • Patent number: 9829084
Abstract: An integrated gear assembly includes a conjoined carrier assembly coupling a reducing gear set to a differential gear set. This includes first, second and third coaxial sun gears. The first sun gear meshingly engages first gear elements of stepped pinion gears of the reducing gear set. The second sun gear meshingly engages third pinion gears of the differential gear set. The third sun gear meshingly engages fourth pinion gears of the differential gear set. The third pinion gears of the differential gear set axially overlap second gear elements of the stepped pinion gears of the reducing gear set. The fourth pinion gears of the differential gear set axially overlap the third pinion gears of the differential gear set.

  • Patent number: 9518656
Abstract: A vehicle and a locking assembly are disclosed. The locking assembly includes a pawl rotatable about a pivot axis between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The pawl is adapted to engage the ring gear when in the engaged position for preventing movement of the ring gear. The locking assembly further includes an actuator selectively actuated to move the pawl to the engaged position. Additionally, the locking assembly includes a biasing mechanism engaging the pawl to continuously bias the pawl toward the disengaged position. The pawl includes a first tooth and a second tooth spaced from each other to define a gap therebetween. The first tooth and the second tooth are adapted to trap a tooth of the ring gear in the gap when the pawl is in the engaged position for preventing rotation of the ring gear.

  • Patent number: 9156348
Abstract: An electric drive for a vehicle includes an electric motor and a planetary gear assembly including a sun gear drivingly connected to a rotor of the electric motor. A ring gear of the planetary gear assembly is connected to a brake that can be released to provide the system with a disconnect. A first transfer gear is connected to the planetary carrier. A second transfer gear is drivingly engaged with the first transfer gear and rotatable about a second axis offset from an axis of the electric motor. A differential is drivingly connected to the second transfer gear and provides drive torque to a pair of drive shafts along the second axis.
