  • Patent number: 6616008
Abstract: The present invention discloses a refuse container lid and hinge assembly, which comprises two angled members, two lid members, and two hinge rods. The angled members are attached to a refuse container and further comprise an attachment portion, a stop portion, and a plurality of knuckles. The lid members each comprise a crumple region and a support region. The crumple regions and support regions cooperatively allow the lid members to withstand planar and nonplanar compressive forces. The support regions each further comprise a plurality of U-shaped support ribs, which effect a patterned series of sloped superior surfaces and a patterned series of sloped inferior surfaces. The hinge rods hingedly connect the lids to the angled members. The ranges of pivotal motion are limited between a closed position and an open position wherein stop structures of the lid members contact the angled members thus restricting the lid members from pivoting more than a preferred number of degrees.

  • Patent number: 5662254
Abstract: A vehicle rack for ladders or other elongated cargo includes a carrying surface and a structure which permits the carrying surface to be adjusted between two fixed positions, both of which can be used for transporting ladders or other elongated cargo. The rack consists of a pair of frames, and each frame includes assemblies generally formed from elongated members. The frame's post assembly has a foot portion which can be releasably secured to the vehicle and an upper portion to which an arm assembly is rotatably connected at one of the arm assembly ends, thereby forming an inverted L-shape. A brace has one end connected to a mid-point of the post assembly and another end connected to a mid-point in the arm assembly. The brace can be attached to one or the other of two attachment areas to position the arm assembly in either of the two fixed positions.

  • Patent number: 5154624
Abstract: An adapter providing electrical and water-tight mechanical connection between a spark plug cable and a high output terminal of a distributorless ignition system. An expandable, electrode extension is anchored in the ignition system terminal at one end and connected to the spark plug cable via a spark plug terminal at the opposite end. The extension fits within a rubber insert that is inserted into the ignition tower to provide a water tight seal.
