Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided a storage medium, the storage medium having a media content portion; and a plurality of digital rights management (DRM) envelopes, wherein each of the plurality of DRM envelopes corresponds to a different DRM format; wherein each of the plurality of DRM envelopes enables access to the media content portion according to its corresponding the DRM format. In another aspect, a method includes decrypting a second portion of the media content according to the secondary content access key to impart a marking in the decrypted first portion of the media content identifying the DRM format. In an additional aspect, a method includes presenting a product serial number to obtain an encryption key associated with the DRM format.

Abstract: Projection systems and methods handle images to be viewable on a concave surface, wherein the projected image is modified to account for surface-to-surface reflections due to the concave surface, by determining geometric surface parameters, determining the ideal image, determining a model for reflected light that is a result of surface-to-surface reflections given the ideal image, wherein the model is expressible in closed form, determining a compensation image to compensate for at least some of the surface-to-surface reflections, taking into account at least the ideal image and the reflected light, and combining the compensation image and the ideal image to form a projectable image that can be projected onto a surface having the determined geometric parameters. The surface can be defined by a portion of an interior of a sphere and the reflection of a given pixel can be modeled as a constant over the concave surface.

Abstract: A vehicle has a door release apparatus for a first door supporting a door latch for a second door. A first door latch connects the first door with respect to a frame defining a vehicle body opening. A handle member has at least an inboard portion and is mounted to the first door for movement about an axis. A force transmission assembly is operably engaged between the handle member and the first door latch for movement between a latch-engaged position and a latch-released position. A door release lock-out is defined by a portion of the second door directly obstructing movement of the handle member, when the second door is in the at least partially latched position. The door release lock-out prevents movement of the handle member a sufficient distance to release the first door latch from the frame when the second door is in the at least partially latched position.

Abstract: There is provided a device for alerting a user of an occurrence of an event. The device comprises a memory configured to store alert data and a media stream having a beginning and an end, the alert data designating a plurality of points for the media stream, the plurality of points including a start point and an end point after the start point, wherein at least one of the start point and the end point is different from the beginning and the end of the media stream. The device further comprises a processor configured to detect the occurrence of the event; retrieve the alert data from the memory in response to the occurrence of the event; begin playback of the media stream from the start point; and stop playback of the media stream at the end point.

Abstract: An enhanced interactive television broadcast is disclosed wherein an audio/video broadcast is viewed on a first display system, and an “enhancement” to the broadcast is simultaneously viewed or experienced on a second, separate display system. The “enhancement” is synchronized to the broadcast, and delivered to a user as a code fragments, such as a JavaScript message. URLs are not required. Portions or elements of a web page are reduced to single code fragments, rendered client-side upon receipt. The invention implements Network Time Protocol (NTP) to synchronize the client's application clock to global time. Messages, or JavaScript code fragments, are time-stamped and evaluated based on the client's application clock.

The group management application is configured to activate a group session, manage communications among group members and the local services network during the group session, and expire activation of the group session after a predetermined time interval.

Abstract: There is provided a method for providing concierge services to a mobile device user. Abstract: There is provided a method for use by a computer for implementing a navigable screensaver. In one embodiment, the navigable screensaver is activated. A user command entered through a user interface of the computer is detected. The navigable screensaver is then maintained to allow a user to navigate the navigable screensaver. The user command is executed by requesting content from a server through a network. Thereafter, the content is received for display in the navigable screensaver. The content is then displayed in the navigable screensaver. Content specified by the user is automatically requested and received by the navigable screensaver. Then, a web browser displaying a web page associated with the content selected by the user in the navigable screensaver is initiated.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for changing digital broadcast channels. In one implementation, upon receiving a request for switching to a new channel in a digital broadcast receiving device, the device switches from a power saving mode, in which the device processes time-slices only for the currently selected broadcast channel, to a channel changing mode, in which broadcast data is buffered for more than one broadcast channels in anticipation of channel surfing. In another implementation, the user's perception of the channel change delay is mitigated by displaying channel information about the newly selected channel.
