Patent number: 11792037Abstract: A safety automation system for an occupiable structure includes a computing management system, a first detection device, and a second detection device. The management system includes a computer processor, and a computer readable storage medium configured to run embedded software, The first detection device is adapted to detect a hazard condition and output an associated hazard condition detected signal to the computing management system. The second detection device is adapted to detect the presence of an occupant in the occupiable structure and the occupant's proximity to the first detection device, and output an occupied signal to the computing management system. The computing management system adjusts the sensitivity of the first detection device based on occupancy and proximity of the occupant to the first detection device.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2021Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: CARRIER CORPORATIONInventors: Anis Zribi, Travis Silver, Jonathon Hughes, John Andres, Chris Rovenstine, Sean Curley, Michael L. Patent number: 10690074Abstract: A method of reducing cold startup time of a genset includes providing a lubricant to the genset at predetermined time intervals before a genset startup. The lubricant is heated to a predetermined lubricant temperature using an external heating system. A high temperature coolant of the genset is heated to greater than a predetermined high temperature coolant temperature. The speed of the engine is ramped to a target speed continuously without pausing at a speed lower than the target speed. Genset electrical parameters of the genset are synchronized to utility grid or load electrical parameters of the utility grid or load. The genset is electrically coupled to the utility grid or load such that the synchronizing and electrically coupling are performed within a predetermined synchronization time. A fueling rate and a spark timing is adjusted based on a power being produced by the genset.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2016Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: Cummins Power Generation LimitedInventors: Ikenna Oguguo, Philippe Goesel, Dafydd Roberts, Sean Curley, James Meadows
