    Abstract: The present invention relates to sterile dental floss segments having integral tips on the ends thereof, that are compatible for use in dental floss rings and similar type dental floss holders. The dental floss segments have a predetermined length, and are enclosed in a laminated web matrix containing multiple strands of dental floss, which maintains the integrity of the sterility of the dental floss, even after one or more of the strands are removed for use, and also allows for the sterilization of the dental floss strands after laminating the web. The present invention further relates to the method and apparatus to manufacture the sterile web units containing the sterilized dental floss segments with the integral tips on the ends.

    Abstract: A dental floss device includes two ring portions having a tongue for holding a segment of dental floss with a closed loop at either end. The tongue opens into the open center of the ring, the tongue being defined by at least one groove opening into the open center of the ring and running to an end portion located towards an outside face of the ring. The groove also opens along its entire length to a top face of the ring at two spaced apart locations.

    Abstract: The invention provides for a dental floss device comprising two ring portions and a floss portion held therebetween, whereby the ring portions are placed on a finger of each hand of a user. The ring portions are specially adapted to receive and removingly retain a specially formed segment of floss, which segment of floss can be removed from the rings and discarded, while the ring portions are fitted with a new segment of floss and reused. The floss portion has locking elements on each end which engage with a mating receiving portion on each ring portion.
