  • Patent number: 11312066
Abstract: Provided is a method of making a three-dimensional object, which method may include the steps of: (a) producing an intermediate object (21) from a dual cure polymerizable liquid by additive manufacturing, the intermediate object having the shape of the three-dimensional object in warped or distorted form; (b) optionally washing the intermediate object; then (c) contacting the intermediate to a form (22), which form has a shape corresponding to the three-dimensional object, and with the intermediate conformed to the shape of the form; then (d) further curing the intermediate object in contact with the form to produce the three-dimensional object (24) under conditions in which the three-dimensional object retains a shape conformed to the form after separating therefrom; and then (e) separating the three-dimensional object from the form.

  • Patent number: 11167395
Abstract: A constant force expansion construct includes a plurality of expandable layers, each expandable layer including: (a) a longitudinal restricting beam; and (b) a plurality of interconnected flexible biasing struts connecting the longitudinal restricting beam of one expandable layer to another longitudinal restricting beam in a next adjacent expandable layer, the biasing struts being biased toward a compressed position and being movable between the compressed position and an expanded position in which a distance between successive longitudinal restricting beams is increased.

Date of Patent: November 9, 2021
    Assignee: Carbon, Inc.
Inventors: Austin M. Merlo, Sean Friedrich Walter McCluskey
  • Patent number: 11148357
Abstract: A method of making a composite article comprised of a first component (10) and a second component (30) includes (a) providing a first component (10) and an optically transparent member (22) having a build surface with the first component having a first three-dimensional interfacing segment formed thereon; (b) immersing the first three-dimensional interfacing segment in polymerizable liquid (21); (c) forming an intermediate object by irradiating a build region with light through an optically transparent member and also advancing the first three-dimensional component and the build surface away from one another to form from the polymerizable liquid (21) a second component (30) on said first three-dimensional interfacing segment, with the second component including a second three-dimensional interfacing segment in contact with the first three-dimensional interfacing segment; then (d) optionally washing the intermediate; and then (e) further solidifying the second three-dimensional component (30) on said first thr

  • Patent number: 10875239
Abstract: A first aspect of the present invention is a constant force compression construct, comprising: (a) a plurality of compressible layers, each compressible layer comprising a plurality of interconnected flexible struts configured as a regular hexagonal lattice of repeating unit cells, with the layers spaced apart from one another, and with the unit cells of each layer aligned with one another; and (b) a plurality of beams interconnecting each of the compressible layers with each respective adjacent compressible layer to form a three-dimensional lattice having an upper portion, a lower portion, and a compressible region therebetween, with the repeating unit cells contained in the compressible region.
