  • Patent number: 8265032
Abstract: Method and system for multicast broadcasting towards a roaming terminal according to the location thereof in relation to its site and/or original organization. Upon connection of the roaming terminal and transmission towards the site of a signalling message, it is possible to discriminate at the site an item of locating information of the roaming terminal whereby the latter receives a signalling acknowledgement message containing the locating information. When a request is made by the roaming terminal for access to group multicast broadcasting, involving a request for an address, the request is substituted or not by an extended multicast broadcast request according to the location of the connection of the roaming terminal, whereby the new address makes it possible to receive all local broadcasting at the site and/or at the original.

  • Patent number: 8000279
Abstract: A system for multicast broadcasting towards an IP network mobile system. Upon connection of the mobile router and transmission of a signalling to the site of origin, the method includes discriminating the location of a mobile router with regard to the respective site of the organization of origin; transmitting to an infinity of locations; then for each assess request of a mobile terminal, local multicast broadcasting; substituting the access request, if the location information designates a connection of outside the respective site thereof coming from the organization of origin, with a request for access to extend multicast broadcasting; transmitting the request for access to extend multicast broadcasting; receiving and transforming, at level, the extended multicast broadcast into local transformed multicast broadcast and transmitting the locally transformed multicast broadcast on the IP mobile network to the requesting user terminal.

  • Patent number: 7990913
Abstract: A mobility manager provides mobility management of mobile nodes in accordance with bandwidth allocated from an access point. The mobility manager receives traffic shaping report messages from a traffic shaper within an access network of which the access point forms part, the traffic shaping report messages reporting on a current use of bandwidth for each of a plurality of different traffic types by one or more non mobility-managed mobile nodes which are not controlled by the mobility manager, and reporting on bandwidth used by one or more of the mobility-managed mobile nodes, which are managed by the mobility manager. The traffic pattern is adapted in accordance with a current use of bandwidth for the different traffic types by the non mobility-managed mobile node and is communicated to the traffic shaper for use in controlling the bandwidth of the access point in accordance with the adapted traffic pattern.

  • Patent number: 7643506
Abstract: A method for broadcasting extensive multicast from a multicast exchange having a first address of a site of origin. A query of extensive multicast broadcasting containing the first address and an identification code of a mobile terminal is transmitted from the mobile terminal toward the site. A message offering access containing a second global multicast broadcasting address, whose source is situated in the site of origin, is transmitted from the site toward the mobile terminal. A message accepting access is transmitted from the mobile terminal toward the site upon the broadcasting to the second address. Information to be diffused is transferred from the first to the second address, and global multicast is transmitted by broadcasting to the second address. The mobile terminal receives, at the distinct site, the information diffused under the first address diffused under the second address.

  • Publication number: 20080259852
Abstract: A mobility manager provides mobility management of mobile nodes, which have subscribed to an applications server for a communications service. The applications server is arranged to control a level of a service in accordance with bandwidth allocated to the applications server for the mobility-managed mobile nodes by the mobility manager from an access point to which the mobility-managed mobile nodes are attached. The mobility manager receives traffic shaping report messages from a traffic shaper within an access network. The traffic shaping reports report on a current use of bandwidth for each of a plurality of different traffic types by non mobility-managed mobile nodes, which are not controlled by the mobility manager. The traffic shaping reports also report on bandwidth used by one or more mobility-managed mobile nodes, which are managed by the mobility manager.
