  • Publication number: 20010029946
Abstract: An anesthesia apparatus of the type with several ventilation modes comprises a main gas circuit (1) formed by an inhalation branch (1a) and by an exhalation branch (1b), a gas accumulation member (4) whose internal volume varies and communicates with the main circuit (1), and relief valve means (6) which have an adjustable pressure set-point level and are arranged on the main circuit (1). In addition, detection means (11, 12, 13, 14) make it possible to determine an information item relating to the gas entering and/or leaving the accumulation member (4), information-processing means (10) make it possible to process said information item in order to deduce from it information concerning ventilation mode, and control means (15) act on the relief valve means (6) in order to automatically adjust the pressure set-point level of said relief valve means (6) as a function of the information concerning ventilation mode delivered by the processing means (10).

  • Publication number: 20010022179
Abstract: Anesthesia apparatus comprising a gas circuit (1, 2, 3) with an inhalation branch (1) and an exhalation branch (2) forming a loop circuit (3). A manual ventilation balloon (10) forms a first gas accumulation volume, and a mechanical ventilation enclosure (13) comprises a second gas accumulation volume (14). Switching means (20) make it possible to control communication of the manual ventilation balloon (10) or of the second accumulation volume (14) with the gas circuit (1, 2, 3) in order to change over from a mechanical ventilation mode to a manual ventilation mode, or vice versa. Actuating means govern control means for fresh gas in order to permit introduction of a predefined quantity of fresh gas, into the gas circuit (1, 2, 3), in response to determination of the end of an inhalation phase and after acting on the switching means (20) to change over from a mechanical ventilation mode to a manual ventilation mode, or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20010020471
Abstract: Respiratory anesthesia device comprising a gas circuit (1) comprising an inhalation branch for conveying a mixture of anesthetic gas to connection means (24) intended to be connected to the upper airways of a patient (11); an exhalation branch (3) for conveying a gaseous mixture containing CO2 exhaled by said patient (11); said inhalation branch (2) and said exhalation branch (3) forming a looped gas circuit (1). A line (8) supplying fresh gas, in fluidic communication with the gas circuit (1) is intended to supply said circuit (1) with fresh gas. Furthermore, a relief valve (4) with an adjustable pressure set-point value is arranged on the inhalation branch (2) or on the exhalation branch (3) and means for controlling the relief valve (4) acting on the relief valve (4) in response to the detection of a variation in flow rate and/or pressure of the fresh gas inside the fresh gas supply line (8) so as to adjust the pressure set-point of the relief valve (4).
