  • Patent number: 9005970
Abstract: [PROBLEMS] Relating to a bioassay method with the use of cultured cells and cell culture for a therapeutic purpose in the case of determining the efficacy of a drug or the like or examining the toxicity thereof, it is intended to provide a method of culturing cells under regulation in the extension direction and a cell culture plate. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A cell culture plate having a plural number of side walls (1) and a plural number of space structures (3) for providing cultured cells which are formed by the side walls (1), wherein the side walls (1) are provided with openings (2) so that the space structures (3) are linked together. By using this cell culture plate, a method of culturing cells under regulation in the extension direction can be provided.

  • Patent number: 7972543
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a process for producing microspheres that are solid microparticles or liquid microparticles for use as an emulsion employed in the food industry, production of medicine and cosmetic etc. or an emulsion for DDS (drug delivery system). The object is attained by a process for producing a microsphere including: separating a disperse phase from a continuous phase by a substrate 1 having a through-hole 7; and extruding the disperse phase into the continuous phase through the through-hole 7, in which the substrate having the through-hole 7 with a width of 0.5 to 500 ?m, a depth of 10 ?m to 6000 ?m and a ratio of the width to the depth of the through-hole 7 of 1 to 1/30 is a metal substrate.

  • Publication number: 20090149345
Abstract: A microchannel array, a method of manufacturing the same, and a blood test method. The microchannel array is formed by joining first and second substrates, each including a fluid inlet and outlet on their surfaces. An internal space structure connects the fluid inlet and outlet, and includes an upstream flow channel connected with the fluid inlet, a downstream flow channel connected with the fluid outlet with a gap therebetween, and a micro flow channel connecting the upstream and downstream flow channels. A minimum distance from a center of a sectional surface of the micro flow channel to a side wall of the micro flow channel is smaller than that of the upstream and downstream flow channels. Each surface of the first and second substrates includes grooves for creating the upstream and downstream flow channels, and the surface of the second substrate has grooves for creating the micro flow channel.
