  • Patent number: 6330891
Abstract: In a double-damper apparatus 1 including a driving portion (2), two frame portions (3 and 4) arranged on both sides of the driving portion, and two open/close members (5 and 6) which are coupled with the driving portion (2) and perform the operation of opening/closing the openings (31 and 41) formed in the frame portions respectively by the driving force of the driving portion, a steps(s) &bgr; is formed between the flat portions (37b and 47b) of the two frame portions (3 and 4). A labyrinth structure is formed between both flat portions (37b and 47b) to prevent leakage of fluid between both fluid channels.

  • Patent number: 6301910
Abstract: The refrigerator includes a plurality of rooms separated by partition walls; an air blower to send cooling air cooled by an evaporator into a refrigerator box; a fan motor 65 to drive the air blower; a damper device 50 to adjust an amount of the cooling air of at least one room, of amounts of cooling air flowing into the rooms; and control means 2 and 93 for driving the fan motor 65 without fail just before the baffle of the damper device 50 is opened. The temperature at which the bimetal thermo-switch 2 moves from one terminal 2a to the other terminal 2b, is set lower than the temperature at which the bimetal thermo-switch 93 moves from the closing terminal 93b side to the opening terminal 93a side, and the bimetal thermo-switch 2 is made to move to the other terminal 2b side before the baffle moves from the close-status to the open-status.

  • Patent number: 6244564
Abstract: A motor-type damper unit includes a motor for driving in a single direction, an opened/closed member for reciprocating in an opening direction and a closing direction with a fulcrum shaft serving as a center by a drive force of said motor, an intermittent drive gear formed with a tooth part in a predetermined part in a circumferential direction and rotation blocking parts at both ends of the tooth part, said intermittent drive gear for rotating by the drive force of said motor, a first transmission gear placed on the fulcrum shaft for engaging the tooth part of said intermittent drive gear, thereby rotating said opened/closed member in a predetermined direction and a second transmission gear for engaging the tooth part of said intermittent drive gear at a different position from said first transmission gear, for transmitting a rotation force of said intermittent drive gear to said first transmission gear and for rotating said first transmission gear in an opposite direction to the predetermined direction.

  • Patent number: 6069466
Abstract: In an opening/closing member driving method in which the rotation of a motor rotatable in two directions is transmitted through a transmission member to an opening/closing member to thereby drive a baffle 4 in an opening direction A and in a closing direction B, when driving the transmission member from an intermediate position to an original position which is set at a position where the transmission member is moved to the full in one direction or in the other direction, the transmission member is once driven in the opposite direction to the original position and is stopped at such opposite position or in the neighborhood of the opposite position and, after then, the transmission member is driven in the original position direction by an amount equivalent to the normal movement thereof and is thereby returned to the original position.

  • Patent number: 6058726
Abstract: A damper comprises two cold air inlets through which a fluid flows, two gate plates which open and close the two cold air inlets and a drive unit for driving the two gate plates. The drive unit is installed between the two cold air inlets to open and close the gate plates. The drive unit operates to control the fluid flow. In a particular form, the damper is installed in a refrigerator for opening and closing two cold air inlets of the refrigerator.

  • Patent number: 5876014
Abstract: A motor damper arranged in a passage in a refrigerator through which the cold air flows comprises a frame constituting a part of the passage, a cold air gate formed at the center of the frame, a baffle rotatably secured on a rotation shaft formed on the frame for opening and closing the cold air gate and a rotation mechanism for swinging the baffle between open and closed positions of the cold air gate. The baffle is arranged to enclose a neighboring region by the frame at the position it closes the cold air gate. The rotation mechanism includes a motor arranged outside the frame and in the vicinity of the rotation shaft of the baffle. The motor damper also includes an output shaft of the motor which is rotatably secured to the rotation shaft of the baffle.
