    Abstract: A seat slide device includes lower rails and upper rails both formed substantially symmetrical bilaterally across a center in a width direction, and lock mechanisms on both sides of the upper rails to be engaged with the lower rails to lock them. An entire structure combining the lower rails, the upper rails and the lock mechanisms is substantially symmetrical forward, backward, and bilaterally, and a force applied to the lower rails and the upper rails can be absorbed substantially evenly forward, backward, and left and right. Since the lock mechanisms have an elastic lock member in a substantially center part in a longitudinal direction, the lower rails and the upper rails are elastically deformable for reduction of a biased load at a time of locking, improvement in vibration absorption characteristic, and the like, and a plate thickness of each material can be made thinner than conventional for weight reduction.

    Abstract: A cushion member includes an intermediate layer, and an upper layer and lower layer stacked and fixed thereto. The cushion member is fixed to a frame by bending an end part of the cushion member so that the upper layer comes to the front side and the lower layer comes to the back side. The intermediate layer is subjected to shear force and the upper layer and the lower layer are subjected to compressive and tensile stress. With the spring characteristic of the intermediate layer, residual stress of the tension and compression is applied to the upper and lower layers from the intermediate layer. Thus, the cushion member can have a restoring property, generation of creases during no load application can be reduced, permanent setting is made less likely, and a compression characteristic in the thickness direction is increased.

    Abstract: To obtain an integrated foam-molded product whose manufacturing cost is reduced and which makes an effective use of a property of an integration target. Foaming heat generated at the time of the foaming of a polyurethane foam raw material, whose influence has been conventionally prevented by contriving a special measure, is positively used. The integration target is influenced by foaming heat generated at the time of the foaming of the polyurethane foam raw material in a mold, to thermally deform into a desired shape along a mold shape. Consequently, it is possible to mold the integration target into an arbitrary shape in a step of integrating the integration target with a polyurethane foam layer in the mold by integrated foaming, and therefore, there is no need to work the integration target to a state closer to a final shape in a step before it is disposed in the mold, which can simplify manufacturing steps and reduce manufacturing cost.

    Abstract: A vehicle seat includes a tension structure extended on a back frame with a configuration in which a natural frequency in the right-and-left direction of the back frame is set lower than the natural frequency in the front-and-rear direction. Thereby, the structure can easily deflect in the right-and-left direction. Therefore, since an impact load larger than a predetermined level inputted in the front-and-rear direction due to front-and-rear/pitching vibration or a rear collision and the like becomes a force of deflecting the back frame in the right-and-left direction, the vibration/impact energy is consumed by that, and moreover, rearward displacement of the back frame consumes vibration/impact energy. Thus, absorbing performances of the vibration/impact energy are higher than before.

    Abstract: To achieve weight reduction while providing elasticity sufficient in a cushioning member for a vehicle seat, an elastic member made of expanded resin beads includes an elastic covering material having stretching properties stuck to an outer face of an expanded bead body. Therefore, when the elastic member made of expanded resin beads is bent or compressed, the respective beads themselves configuring the expanded bead body are elastically deformed according to stretching or compressing of the elastic covering material, and since the elastic deformation is not such deformation that a gap between beads of the expanded bead body largely expands, a crack occurring between beads or permanent deformation does not occur so that bending or compressing becomes possible. Accordingly, the elastic member made of expanded resin beads is suitable as a cushioning member utilizing an elastic recovering force in a bending direction and a thickness direction thereof.

Specifically disclosed is a structural material produced by integrally joining thin steel members in a part thereof and, after joining, thermally heating a part thereof so that the heat-treated part differs from the other parts in strength and toughness. Unlike a structural material, the strength of which as a whole has been uniformly improved by heat treatment, the above-described structural material consists of a part having a high strength and a part having low strength. Thus, a structural material, the strength and toughness of which are well-balanced at a high level can be obtained. Since the strength and toughness are well-balanced at a high level, the structural material is suitable particularly for seat frames in automobiles, aircrafts and the like.

    Abstract: A base net for a back is formed from a three-dimensional stereoscopic knit, and has a configuration in which seams for bringing a pair of ground knitted fabrics thereof to close to each other in a thickness direction are partially provided, predetermined preliminary compression is applied in the thickness direction by the seams, and thereby residual stress is generated in a surface direction (stretching direction). Therefore, stiffness is partially increased by partial improvement in residual stress, and consequently a human body with extreme roughness is supported by nearly uniform pressure. Thus, in spite of a simple configuration in which the seams are provided in desired regions, posture supportiveness and body pressure dispersiveness can be improved. Further, by arbitrarily adjusting the formation positions of the seams, the pressure distribution is adjusted, thereby making it possible to easily control the vibration mode to desired setting, and easily improve vibration absorbency.

    Abstract: A predetermined component such as a recliner is attached to a long member in advance, and thereafter by bending the long member, a pair of side frames and an upper frame are integrally formed. Therefore, the recliner can be attached to the long member not bent yet and thus in a substantially flat state, and in addition, the pair of side frames and the upper frame can be integrally formed, which does not require labor and contributes to a reduction in manufacturing cost. Moreover, by adjusting a position where the bending is performed, it is possible to manufacture seat frame structures different in dimension even if the long members not bent yet have the same length, and from this viewpoint as well, it is possible to reduce labor and manufacturing cost.

The supporter and the helical tension springs structure an auxiliary vibration system whose mass element is a femoral region of a seated person. The auxiliary vibration system is made to function as a dynamic vibration absorber with respect to up-down vibrations of a main vibration system whose mass element is an upper body of a seated person.
