  • Publication number: 20070256821
Abstract: A header tank for a heat exchanger includes tank forming sections that are joined into a tubular shape with a substantially square cross-section. The header tank has a refrigerant low path formed inside the tank forming sections include a tank upper section (31) in which tube insertion holes (31a) for connecting tubes of a heat exchanger core are formed. The tank lower section (33) having a substantially U-shaped refrigerant split-flow groove (33A) that has, in its longitudinal direction, communication holes (33a, 33b) for the refrigerant. The tank forming sections include a plate section (35) for closing an opening of the refrigerant split-flow groove (33A) to form a refrigerant split-flow path (37) inside the tank lower section.

  • Publication number: 20070175033
Abstract: A metal carrier according to the present invention is produced by superposing a metal flat sheet and a metal corrugated sheet on each other and winding them. In a winding end when the corrugated sheet and the flat sheet are wound, a corrugation height of the corrugated sheet is gradually lowered.

  • Publication number: 20050115070
Abstract: A metal carrier includes a core (3) having a thinned film containing a metal catalyst. The core includes a first metal sheet (1) corrugated and having a crest with a first radius (R). The core includes a second metal sheet (2) flattened or corrugated smaller in corrugation height than the first metal sheet, The first and second metal sheets are stacked on each other to be wound up. The crest and second metal sheet are joined to each other, having a joint therebetween. A fillet of the catalyst is formed between the joint, the first metal sheet, and the second metal sheet, having an arced surface of a second radius (r) extending between the first and second metal sheets. The first radius is set substantially equal to the second radius.

  • Patent number: 6374865
Abstract: In the method and apparatus of making a header pipe, the end faces of the edge portions of a flat plate, which have been respectively cut into a given shape according to a trimming operation, are then respectively face-struck into a linear shape. Also, in the trimming operation, each of the edge portions of the flat plate is cut into a shape having a larger dimension than that of a finally required shape thereof, and the thus produced excess length portions of the edge portions are worked by compressing when a pair of semidivided cylindrical portions are butted against each other. Since a connecting portion situated between the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions is always pressed with a given pressure, the working properties of the connecting portion in the molding operation are prevented from being revived.

  • Patent number: 6049981
Abstract: A flat plate is molded in such a manner that a pair of semidivided cylindrical portions are arranged in parallel to each other with an arc-shaped connecting portion between them. Tube insertion holes are formed in one of the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions. Then, the connecting portion is projected from the inside thereof to thereby dispose the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions in such a manner that they are opposed to each other. The mutually opposed semidivided cylindrical portions are butted against each other, thereby manufacturing a cylindrically-shaped header pipe. The tube insertion holes are formed only in one of the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions in such a manner that the tube insertion holes are not allowed to extend up to the connecting portion.

  • Patent number: 5996205
Abstract: In the method for manufacturing a pipe with a partition, a flat plate is molded such that a pair of semidivided cylindrical portions are arranged in parallel to each other through a connecting portion, a U-shaped partition forming portion is so formed in the pair of semidivided cylindrical portions as to project inwardly thereof, and the partition forming portion is compressed from the two sides thereof to thereby form a semidivided partition portion. The connecting portion situated between the partition forming portion is cut to thereby form an escape hole.
