  • Patent number: 8020086
Abstract: There is disclosed an information processing apparatus which can minimize the probability of a partner being incapable of referring to data at a link destination when a structured document is transmitted to another apparatus or application or the risk of transmission of data unnecessary for the partner, suppress any wasteful data transmission, and properly cope with the intention of the manager of the apparatus or the creator of the structured document about the data transmission. In this information processing apparatus, data at a link destination is embedded in document data, and the document data is transmitted to another apparatus. In transmitting the document data, it is determined whether to transmit the document data after the data at the link destination is embedded in it.

  • Patent number: 7394563
Abstract: An image forming apparatus processes data described in a predetermined descriptive language. A module interprets a storage location of image data of an image described according to the predetermined descriptive language and a module obtains the image data based on the interpreted storage location. A reading module reads and obtains image forming information that includes image trimming information. Another module interprets the image forming information obtained by the reading module, including interpreting the image trimming information. A processing module renders an image forming processing, including a trimming processing, on the image data based on the interpreted image forming information, and the trimming processing is executed prior to execution of any of a flipping processing, a rotation processing, and an image aspect ratio maintaining processing.

  • Publication number: 20040008356
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that processes data described in a predetermined descriptive language is provided. A reading module of the image forming apparatus reads placement information of an image including a storage location of image data of the image, a size of the image and forming information of the image described in a predetermined descriptive language. An image storage location interpretation module interprets the storage location of the image data read out. An image size interpretation module interprets the size of the image read out. An image data obtaining module obtains the image data based on the storage location of the image data interpreted. An image region determining module determines an image forming rectangular region based on the image size interpreted. An image modification processing module performs an enlargement or reduction processing on the image data obtained such that the image obtained can be contained in the image forming rectangular region.

  • Patent number: 6493102
Abstract: There is described a facsimile device which includes a first transmitting device that transmits previously stored communication information of a receiving device to the receiving device; and, in response to such transmission, the receiving device compares that communication information with its own communication information. When the comparison shows a difference, a second transmitting device, which is associated with the receiving device, transmits new communication information back to the first transmitting device; and, in response to this, the first transmitting device updates the stored communication information.

  • Patent number: 6122072
Abstract: In a data communication apparatus, when performing a calling operation, an image transmission speed is assigned using a CCITT nonstandard reception command NSS after transmitting a dial signal, and the NSS is repeatedly transmitted at a predetermined time interval. Upon reception of a reception-preparation-confirming signal transmitted from an apparatus of a communication partner, a command, an identification signal and image data are transmitted at the image transmission speed based on information relating to the communication partner's apparatus which has been stored, so that the time required for communication procedures is shortened.

  • Patent number: 5918006
Abstract: A communication device includes a storage medium for storing a program and information used to detect any error in the program, to prevent the communication device from further abnormal operation when an error occurs in the stored program. The occurrence of an error in the program is detected by performing a calculation based on the stored program, and comparing the result of the calculation with the above-described information stored in the storage medium. A predetermined operation is further performed depending on the result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 5257253
Abstract: A first reproduction circuit reproduces a digital stereo audio signal from a signal which is read by means of a pickup from a disc loaded at a playback position, and a second reproduction circuit reproduces an analog audio signal from the signal read by the pickup. When the disc loaded at the playback position is identified as being a Laser vision Disc with Digital sound (LDD) disc, the stereo audio signal outputted from the first reproduction circuit is mixed with the analog audio signal outputted from the second reproduction circuit, such that a vocal portion of a reproduction can be reproduced together with an accompaniment portion of the reproduction, in a stereo mode.

  • Patent number: 5177728
Abstract: A disc player capable of playing discs of different types such as: discs where only a digital audio signal is contained in a first frequency band; discs where only an analog audio signal is contained in a frequency band other than the first frequency band; and, discs where digital and audio signals are contained in the first frequency band and the other frequency band. Processing arrangements are further included to determine (according to disc size and/or presence of a table of contents) whether a currently loaded disc is recorded in the same format as a previous disc which was loaded immediately prior thereto, and if the same, playing the currently loaded disc according to the same reproduction settings as those for the previous disc.

  • Patent number: 5090000
Abstract: A height adjusting device for adjusting the height of a pickup, comprises a support mechanism for supporting the pickup on the carriage in a manner that a position of the pickup along the axis of rotation of the turntable of the optical disc player is adjustable and an adjusting device for driving the support mechanism to adjust the position of the pickup. The adjusting device generates a height position signal indicative of the position of the pickup and the support mechanism is driven in response to the magnitude of the height position signal only when the magnitude of the height position signal is greater than a predetermined level. According to the other aspect of the invention, a compensated height position signal is generated by superimposing a compensating signal indicative of the position of the optical system of the pickup relative to the housing of the pickup on the height position signal, and the support mechanism is driven in response to the magnitude of the compensated height position signal.
