  • Patent number: 6667488
Abstract: In a radiation image acquisition apparatus that obtains a radiation image recorded on a stimulable phosphor layer having a plurality of arranged cells, the quantity of stimulated emissions from the stimulable phosphor within each cell is obtained precisely for each cell as a digital image signal. A radiation image conversion panel comprising a phosphor layer formed of multiple cells filled with stimulable phosphor having recorded on the surface thereof a radiation image is scanned with a stimulating light beam by a scanning unit, and the stimulated emissions caused thereby are photoelectrically detected as an analog image signal by a photoelectrical amplifier. The signal component representing the partition walls is recognized, and the component of the analog image signal obtained between the recognized signal components representing the cell partition walls is digitized and a digital image signal is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20030160188
Abstract: A stimulable phosphor panel comprises a substrate having rigidity, a stimulable phosphor layer, and a transparent water vapor proof cover, which are overlaid one upon another in this order. The stimulable phosphor layer is accommodated and sealed within an enclosed region, which is enclosed between the substrate and the transparent water vapor proof cover. An expansible and contractible buffer space is formed so as to be in communication with the enclosed region. The buffer space has a volume falling within the range of 1/10 times to two times as large as the volume of the space within the enclosed region. The transparent water vapor proof cover may be constituted of a deformable film, and the buffer space may be formed by the utilization of a certain area of the transparent water vapor proof cover.

  • Patent number: 6541773
Abstract: An improvement of a radiation image detecting apparatus composed of a phosphor screen that converts radiation into visible light and a two-dimensionally extended photo-detector placed on one surface of the screen, resides in that the phosphor screen is composed of a partition that divides the screen on its plane to give small sections and phosphor-incorporated areas that are sectioned with the partition. The phosphor-incorporated areas and the partition scatter the visible light with scattering lengths of 20 to 200 &mgr;m and 0.05 to 20 &mgr;m, respectively, providing that a ratio of the former to the latter is 3.0 or higher, and each of the phosphor-incorporated areas and the partition absorbs the visible light with an absorption length of 1,000 &mgr;m or longer.

  • Publication number: 20020190224
Abstract: In a radiation image recording/read-out apparatus, a stimulable phosphor sheet having a reflective layer which is not longer than 5 &mgr;m in scattering length and is interposed between a stimulable phosphor layer and a support layer is used. Radiation is projected onto the stimulable phosphor sheet from the support layer side, and stimulating light is projected onto the stimulable phosphor sheet from the stimulable phosphor layer side. Stimulated emission, emitted from the stimulable phosphor layer upon exposure to the stimulating light, is detected from the stimulable phosphor layer side.

  • Publication number: 20020179869
Abstract: A stimulable phosphor sheet includes a stimulable phosphor layer in contact with a protective layer which is rigid and transparent. Stimulating light is projected onto the stimulable phosphor sheet from the protective layer side, stimulated emission emitted from the stimulable phosphor layer upon exposure to the stimulating light is detected by imaging the stimulated emission on a line sensor by an imaging lens from the protective layer side while moving the stimulable phosphor sheet relatively to the line sensor in a direction intersecting the direction in which the line sensor extends.

  • Publication number: 20020166977
Abstract: A radiation image storage panel comprises a first rigid layer, and a stimulable phosphor layer, which is overlaid on the first rigid layer. A filler layer is located by adhesion on the side of the first rigid layer, on which side the stimulable phosphor layer is overlaid, or a filler layer is located by adhesion on the side opposite to the side of the first rigid layer, on which side the stimulable phosphor layer is overlaid. A second rigid layer is overlaid by adhesion on the filler layer. The density of the filler layer is lower than the density of the first rigid layer and the density of the second rigid layer. The radiation image storage panel exhibits little deflection by gravity and is capable of yielding a reproduced radiation image having good image quality.

  • Patent number: 5400951
Abstract: In brazing a first metal piece having a tubular joint portion of predetermined length at an end thereof and a second metal piece having a bore for inserting the extremity of the joint portion thereinto by replaced brazing with the extremity of the joint portion inserted in the bore, a plurality of axial grooves having a depth of 0,3 to 1,5 mm and arranged at a spacing of 5 to 30 mm in the circumferential direction are formed in the outer peripheral surface of joint portion of the first metal piece. Each of the grooves has one end extending to the outside of the bore of the second metal piece when the joint portion is inserted in the bore. The gas or residue of flux produced during brazing escapes through the grooves, whereby voids or like defects are prevented from occurring in the fillet of the brazed joint. Since the grooves are all filled up with the brazing filler metal, the brazed joint is given a sufficient bond strength and prevented from permitting leakage there-through.
