  • Patent number: 7249654
Abstract: To obtain a wide passenger compartment space, the thickness of a heat insulating acoustical layer is reduced, and for this purpose, a comfortable in-car environment is obtained by using a vacuum insulating panel which combines high heat insulating performance and sound insulating performance. A heat insulating acoustical layer 20 is formed on one surface of a lightweight alloy structure 10 of double skin construction by using a vacuum insulating panel 21 as a middle member and sandwiching two surfaces of the panel with elastic sound absorbing materials 22, 23 made of a nonwoven fabric or a foamed body, and the heat insulating acoustical layer is covered with an interior material 24. Owing to this construction, the transmission loss of a noise which transmits from the double skin structure side is improved by the mutual actions of the elasticity of the sound absorbing material and the rigidity of the vacuum heat insulating panel.

  • Publication number: 20060219716
Abstract: The invention provides an improved overhead baggage rack for a railway car. An overhead baggage rack unit 50 provided at a shoulder portion between a side frame 10 and a roof frame 20 of a railway car comprises an overhead baggage rack body 100 and a pole 200. The overhead baggage rack body 100 comprises a front edge portion 110, a rear edge portion 112 and a transverse member 114 formed by mechanically cutting out portions from an extruded aluminum alloy member, and thereby, an opening 130 is formed to which an overhead baggage rack panel is attached. A grip bar 150 is cut and formed to an area lower than the front edge portion 110. The front edge portion 110 is fixed via a bracket 160 to the pole 200.

  • Publication number: 20060207471
Abstract: The invention provides a passenger cabin of a railway vehicle with increased interior space. A multifunction module 200 including an air conditioning duct 220, an illuminating apparatus 250, a speaker 260 and the like is disposed on a connecting portion (shoulder portion) between a roof structure 30 and a side structure 50 of a railway vehicle. A baggage rack bracket 310 and a hand strap bracket 350 are passed through and hung from the roof structure 30. A connecting block connecting the brackets 310 and 350 at the upper portions and being fixed to the air conditioning duct 220 is attached to the roof structure 20. Since the multifunction module 200 is fixed only to the roof structure 30, the attaching operation thereof is facilitated. Since the air conditioning duct 220 is disposed on the shoulder portion, the height of the interior space of the vehicle at the center in the width direction of the car body can be increased.

  • Publication number: 20060107865
Abstract: The invention provides a thin footplate of superior quality while suppressing noise caused by the footplate. A footplate 10 is formed by connecting extruded shape members 110 arranged in parallel along the width direction of a railway car by a pipe 80, with the upper surface of the extruded shape members 110 used as the walking surface. Adjacent extruded shape members 110 contact each other via bushings 90. Both ends of the pipe 80 are pulled via draft springs 50 and 50 disposed in V-shape onto the underframe. A slip stopper 120 is adhered to the upper surface of the extruded shape members 110. Bottom surfaces of the extruded shape members contact the upper surface of the underframe via sliding members 70. When the railway car passes a curve or the like that causes relative displacement of the cars, the footplate 10 is slid easily.

  • Patent number: 6446562
Abstract: The present invention aims to manufacture a car body with ease. A hollow material 10 comprises the lower portion of a side structure 201 of the car body. A face plate 11 of the hollow material 10 at the external side of the car has a lower end which projects further downward than a face plate 12 at the internal side of the car. The lower ends of the face plates 11, 12 are connected by a rib 13. The hollow portion thus formed is triangular in shape. A rib 14 above the rib 13 is formed horizontally. The face plates 11, 12 and a rib 15 positioned above the rib 14 are eliminated from the region of one or more doorways 220. The lower end of the doorway 220 of the side structure 201 is equipped with the hollow portion, so that it stays strong against transfer of the side structure. A hollow-shaped material 110, which comprises the end portion of an underframe 203, has an end portion in the width direction which forms a slope (rib 114) facing towards the upper side of the external side of the car.
