  • Publication number: 20240137128
Abstract: An optical transmission system including an optical transmission device and an optical reception device that receives, via an optical transmission line, a signal transmitted from the optical transmission device, the optical transmission system including a transmission-mode selection unit that selects transmission mode information in descending order of priority out of transmission mode information, which is combinations of a plurality of parameters concerning transmission performance, the transmission mode information being a plurality of kinds of the transmission mode information common to the transmission performance of the optical transmission device and the optical reception device, a signal transmission unit that transmits, to the optical reception device, a signal modulated based on the selected transmission mode information, and a signal reception unit that receives the signal and modulates the received signal based on the transmission mode information selected by the transmission-mode selection unit.

  • Patent number: 5528438
Abstract: A rotary bead-drum assembly for use in a video tape recorder that makes high-density recording. The assembly comprises a rotating top drum and a stationary bottom drum. Magnetic tape is helically wound on the outer surfaces of the two drums. A plurality of magnetic transducing heads are mounted to the top drum. An upward conical surface is formed on the top drum over the heads to make the elongation coefficient of the lateral extent of the tape uniform.

  • Patent number: 5212820
Abstract: A tape loading apparatus in which a rotation of a motor is transmitted to a loading ring using a planetary gear arrangement, a loading mechanism is operated as the loading ring is moved to a tape loading position and the loading ring is locked at the tape loading position by a locking mechanism. When the motor is reversely rotated, the lock mechanism releases the loading ring. When the loading ring is released, the gear change action of the planetary gear unit causes, in turn, the rotation of the motor to be transmitted to the loading ring. Thus, the loading ring can be rotated in the unloading direction.

  • Patent number: 5133632
Abstract: In an automated warehouse for storing cartridge tapes, a plurality of the cartridge tapes are accommodated in horizontal cases as arrayed in rows and columns. A plurality of shelves each adapted to support a plurality of the horizontal cases thereon as aligned horizontally, are in turn supported from a rack in a cantilever fashion at a plurality of respective levels. A robot having an arm is movable along the front of the rack. The arm is rotatable in a plane parallel to the surfaces of the shelves. Preferably, the arm of the robot is extensible and retractable and also is vertically movable, so that a cartridge picker mounted at the tip end of the arm can easily access each of the cartridge tapes accommodated in the automated warehouse.
