Abstract: A camera is provided with an SPD and a PSD suitable for implementing a camera capable of enhancing an accuracy of focusing and/or reducing a cost with a small scale of circuit. In the event that a photography is performed at a relatively short distance, a switch is switched by an MPU to offer a low impedance state. An AF-dedicated photo detector circuit determines a distance I1 and I2 obtained through a pair of signal electrodes of the PSD. On the other hand, in case of a relatively long distance, the MPU switches the switch to offer a high impedance state in accordance with distance data representative of the determined distance, so that an AF-dedicated photo detector circuit determines a distance up to the camera subject in accordance with photo-current I3 obtained from one of the signal electrodes of the PSD.

Abstract: An optical apparatus, e.g. a foldable overhead projector of the reflection type, includes a base table, whereon original material is placed on a Fresnel mirror. A projector head forms an image of the original material. A stand is swung on the base table. The stand, when folded, overlies a control portion of the Fresnel mirror. The projector head is vertically swingable on a distal end of the stand. A stand locking lid is swingably mounted on the stand distal end. Retaining claws are formed at a front of the locking lid. Receiving recesses in the base table retain the retaining claws, and keep the stand folded. The locking lid has a manually pullable edge, which is pulled to disengage the retaining claws from the receiving recesses. The projector is thus erected and folded easily, because it is openable quickly for erection.

Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film package for steroscopic photography, wherein a plurality of images of the same subject are taken simultaneously through a corresponding number of taking lenses disposed horizontally side by side at a given distance from each other. Behind the respective taking lenses, exposure chambers and exposure frames for defining the respective exposure areas on the film surface are formed. The exposure frames are each gently curved, and a guide surface for supporting the rear surface of the film is curved complementarily to the exposure frames. Pressing members formed in the guide surface press the film against the end surfaces of walls separating the exposure frames, so as to curve the film along the exposure frames. The film is thus wavy, with forwardly concave film portions in the exposure frames alternating with rearwardly concave film portions between the exposure frames.

Abstract: On the outside of a body of a projector, an LCD is provided for displaying an image. A lamp is incorporated in the projector body for illuminating from the rear an image displayed on the LCD. A movable member is provided on the outside of the projector body for vertical swinging movement between open and closed states, and, in the closed state, allows the LCD to be directly observed. A projecting head is provided on the movable member for projecting, in the open state, the image illuminated by the lamp onto a screen outside the projector body.

Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film package includes a light-tight film case with a taking lens fitted thereto, an empty film container enclosed in the light-tight film case, and a rolled film with its one end retained in the empty film container enclosed in the light-tight film case. Abstract: A slave electronic flash unit is removably mounted on a camera having a built-in electronic flash device and generates an auxiliary flash when a part of the flash generated by the built-in electronic flash device is directly detected by a photosensor. A slave electronic flash unit used in combination with a camera of a variable focal length can be flashed only when the camera is set to a telephotography mode in which an exposure is made that would otherwise be under-exposed.

Abstract: An electonic copying machine for making a hard copy of a remote original comprises a housing and an image pick-up unit pivotally mounted on the housing for vertical swinging movement between a raised use position and a lowered non-use position. In the housing, there are a scanner for scanning the remote original with a line of light projected through a transparent window plate, a recording head and image recording paper. In the image pick-up unit, there are a lens for forming a line image of the scanned remote original on the recording paper, a line image sensor for reading the line image formed thereon by the lens to provide line image signals according to which the image recording head records and image on the recording paper, shifting the line image sensor by a predetermined pitch in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the line image sensor.

Abstract: A variable power reflectory type overhead projector for forming a projected luminous beam by lighting a reflecting mirror from the projecting lens side. A transparent film-to-be-projected support is provided between a regular position of the film to be projected and the projecting lens, and an auxiliary lens is included for focusing the projecting lens on the support.

Abstract: A copying machine for making a hard copy of an original comprises an image sensor for reading an image of the original to provide image signals, a memory for memorizing the image signals after or before processing the image signals for necessary corrections, and a printer for printing an image on a copying sheet according to the image signal after image processing. Preferably, a thermal printing head and a heat sensitive sheet are used. The copying machine is compact and either is incorporated in a portable overhead projector or is used as a writing board copy machine. In the former case, the image sensor is disposed in a supporting arm for supporting an image projection lens assembly above a base section of the overhead projector on which a transparent original is placed.

Abstract: A video camera includes a casing having a generally rectangular parallelepiped shape, a first imaging optical system for shooting a still image and a second imaging optical system for shooting a video picture. The first and second imaging optical systems are disposed in a front surface of the casing so as to be directed to an object scene. A still camera unit is also disposed in the casing in the proximity of the first imaging optical system for shooting the object scene to record a still picture thereof on a film. Abstract: A film loading date display device for a camera includes an input unit for inputting a film loading date, a storing unit for storing the inputted film loading date, and a display unit for displaying the stored film loading data. The input unit is comprised either of a date setting switch and a timer circuit, or of DX contacts adapted to contact the outer periphery of a patrone for detecting film information, a switch for detecting the opening of a film loading door, and a timer circuit. Current date information counted by the timer circuit is written as a film loading date in the storing unit upon actuation of the date setting switch or upon loading of the patrone as well as closing of the door.
