  • Publication number: 20220183020
Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium for resource sharing between at least a first radio access network (RAN) and a second RAN may include at least one base station and a resource manager corresponding to the at least one base station. The resource manager may determine whether to allocate at least one future slot of a radio frame of the common carrier as a first RAN slot or a second RAN slot based on received RAN resource utilization information corresponding to a current slot of the radio frame of the common carrier, or active connection information corresponding to active RAN connections served by the base station; generate RAN resource allocation information corresponding to the at least one future slot based on results of the determining, and transmit the RAN resource allocation information to at least one RAN scheduler corresponding to the base station.

  • Patent number: 10638356
Abstract: A 5G network communicates per-slice constraints for QoS parameter values from a centralized unit (CU) to a MAC scheduler of a distributed unit (DU). The CU communicates these per-slice constraints, rather than or in addition to per-DRB constraints, to the MAC scheduler over the CU/DU interface. In some implementations, the CU/DU interface is an F1 air interface as defined in specification 38.473 in the 3GPP standard. In some implementations, the DU provides per-slice performance feedback over the CU/DU interface. Based on such feedback, the CU may adjust the per-slice QoS constraints.

  • Patent number: 9325467
Abstract: At least one embodiment relates to a method for controlling a number of almost blank subframes (ABS) in a heterogeneous network having a macro cell and at least one small cell of a plurality of small cells in a coverage area of the macro cell, the method includes receiving, at the macro cell, a plurality of measurements regarding both received power and received quality from a terminal, receiving, at the macro cell, a plurality of load-related values from a plurality of small cells; and determining, by the macro cell, a cost-benefit value (CBV) based on the received measurements and load values. The CBV indicates whether an increase or a decrease in the ABS would benefit the network. The method further includes selectively changing, by the macro cell, the number of ABS available to the at least one small cell based on the CBV.
