  • Patent number: 11699444
Abstract: Techniques for using multiple voice-enabled devices in a user environment to reduce the latency for obtaining responses to user utterances from a remote system. The voice-enabled devices may each establish connections with the remote system to have the remote system perform supplemental speech processing for utterances the devices are unable to process locally. One voice-enabled device may have a higher-latency connection to the remote system, and another voice-enabled device may have a lower-latency connection to the remote system. The lower-latency device may send an utterance to the remote system before the higher-latency device is able, and the remote system may begin processing the utterance faster than if the lower-latency device sent the utterance. The remote system may then provide a response for the utterance to the higher-latency device in less time than if the remote system had to wait for the utterance from the higher-latency device.

  • Patent number: 10261564
Abstract: A device configuration application determines a task to be completed prior to an amount of power available from a battery being below a predetermined threshold amount of power. The device configuration application determines one or more user characteristics impacting power consumption associated with the task and current device configuration settings of the user device, and determines a current amount of power that is available from the battery based at least in part on the current device configuration settings. The device configuration application determines one or more new device configuration settings to extend an amount of time that the current amount of power allows device functionality related to the task.

  • Patent number: 9641205
Abstract: Antenna structures and methods of operating the same are described. One apparatus includes a processing device that executes an active interference cancellation (AIC) algorithm and radio frequency front-end (RFFE) circuitry coupled to the processing device. The RFFE circuitry includes two RF couplers, and a programmable-delay filter and a vector modulator disposed along electrical path. The AIC algorithm is operable to control the programmable-delay filter to match a delay of the electrical path to a propagation delay in an antenna path. The AIC algorithm is operable to control the vector modulator to adjust a phase, an amplitude or both of a copy of a first RF signal transmitted via the first antenna to generate a second RF signal. The second RF signal is added to a third RF signal via the second RF coupler to remove from the third RF signal interference caused by the first RF signal.
