    Abstract: For use in conjunction with a fluid retentive housing defining a fluid volume and containing a lubricant, wherein there is provided a fluid port for the lubricant, an integral filler cap and metal debris detector assembly for removable placement within the fluid port comprising a filler cap defining an outer surface for insertion into the fluid port and further defining a bore and magnetic apparatus arranged within the bore and immersed in the fluid volume for attracting metal debris suspended in a lubricant fluid flow so as to remove metal debris from circulation.
