  • Patent number: 6998779
Abstract: A plasma display panel. A pair of substrates has a transparent front surface and is disposed to leave a discharge space therebetween. A plurality of barrier ribs is disposed on one substrate to partition the discharge space into a plurality of respective green discharge spaces, blue discharge spaces and red discharge spaces. A group of electrodes is disposed on the substrates to discharge in the discharge spaces partitioned by the barrier ribs. A phosphor layer is formed in the discharge spaces, the phosphor layer being a green phosphor layer for the green discharge spaces, a blue phosphor layer for the blue phosphor discharge spaces, and a red phosphor layer for the red discharge spaces.

  • Publication number: 20050213010
Abstract: A plasma display panel includes a substrate that includes a first and second substrate disposed facing each other, a plurality of discharge electrodes disposed along a circumference of a discharge cell formed between the first and second substrate, a dielectric wall that buries the discharge electrodes, and a secondary electron emission amplifying unit that emits the secondary electrons into the discharge space and is formed at least on a portion of a surface that contacts plasma generated in the discharge space during a discharge. The discharge voltage can be reduced due to an increase in the emission of the secondary electrons.

  • Publication number: 20050134166
Abstract: A plasma display panel includes a red phosphor layer, a green phosphor layer, and a blue phosphor layer. The thickness of the red phosphor layer comprises Y(V,P)O4:Eu and (Y,Gd)BO3:Eu coated on a barrier rib and is satisfied by the following condition: when Dr is (S?2L)/S, Dr ?0.64, S being a distance between barrier ribs at half the height of the barrier rib; and L being a side thickness at half the height of the barrier rib of the phosphor layer coated on the barrier rib.

  • Publication number: 20050127811
Abstract: Disclosed is a green phosphor for a plasma display panel, comprising a first phosphor comprising ReBO3:Tb (where Re is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Ce, and Gd) and a second phosphor of MgAlxOy:Mn (where x is in the range of 1 to 20 and y is in the range of 1 to 30). The green phosphor improves color purity, lifespan characteristics, and discharge stability of a plasma display panel.
