The conducting line can be made from a silver or copper conductive ink to provide a low-resistance line served as a gate line, common line or source line. In a pixel having a storage capacitor and a TFT with a gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode, the gate electrode is connected to a gate line and a source electrode and one of the capacitor electrodes in the storage capacitor is connected to a common line. At least part of one or more of the gate electrode and the source electrode is disposed on top of and in contact with the surface of one or more conducting lines.

For each pixels in the center area, each of the two subpixels has a corresponding weighting factor. The data lines formed on the first substrate and the gate lines formed on the second substrate are spaced apart by a gate insulator layer and the liquid crystal layer, which increases the gap distance between the data lines and the gate lines. For each pixel, the pixel electrode and the common electrode are each divided into at least N corresponding domains, and each domain is formed by a directional nanowire grid polarizer (NWGP). The directional NWGP of each domain of the pixel electrode has a first planar direction. The directional NWGP of each domain of the common electrode has a second planar direction substantially perpendicular to the first planar direction of the corresponding domain of the pixel electrode. When the pixel is driven by a voltage difference, the directional NWGPs function as polarizers, such that an orientation of the liquid crystal molecules between the NWGPs is about (360/N) degrees from each of the first and second planar directions.

A light source of the G-H LCD is disposed at a side of the PNLC or PDLC display and aligned to its liquid crystal layer. In a first operational mode, the PNLC or PDLC display is switched to the first display state, and the G-H LCD is switched to the transparent state and becomes transparent. In a second operational mode, the G-H LCD is switched to the second display state, and the PNLC or PDLC display is switched to the scattering state to function as a light guide layer for the G-H LCD.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal lens display device, which includes a backlight module and a liquid crystal structure. The liquid crystal structure includes a liquid crystal layer, a quantum dot layer, and a light shield structure. The liquid crystal layer defines multiple display pixels, and each display pixel may be switchable between an on state and an off state. The light shield structure includes two shield layers, each having multiple openings and multiple shield portions alternatively positioned. When the display pixel is in the on state, the liquid crystal molecules form at least one liquid crystal lens to refract the light beams, and the refracted light beams penetrate through the openings of the light shield structure to reach the quantum dot layer. When the display pixel is in the off state, the light beams will not be refracted, and will thus be blocked by the light shield structure.
