    Abstract: A photonic biosensor, a photonic biosensor array, and a method of detecting a bio-material using the same are provided. The photonic biosensor includes a light emitting diode configured to emit light, a photodiode (PD), an optical fiber configured to connect the light emitting diode with the PD, and a micro-fluidic channel disposed on the optical fiber. Bio-antibodies or aptamers are fixed to the surface of the optical fiber, and the micro-fluidic channel includes gold (Au) nanoparticles to which bio-antibodies or aptamers are fixed. The photonic biosensor may be configured using absorption of surface plasmons in Au nanoparticles with respect to light traveling through the surface of the optical fiber configured to connect the light emitting diode with the PD, thus simplifying the manufacture of the biosensor and reducing the manufacturing cost.

    Abstract: Provided are a biochip and a method of detecting a reaction from the biochip. This method includes preparing a first mixture solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and a sample including target molecules, measuring absorbance or transmittance of the first mixture solution, preparing a second mixture solution including the PVP, the sample, and a receptor of the target molecules, measuring absorbance or transmittance of the second mixture solution, and calculating an absorbance or transmittance difference between the first mixture solution and the second mixture solution. Thus, it is possible to reduce the production cost of the biochip by inducing a reaction of an antigen and an antibody using PVP. Further, it is possible to detect an accurate quantity of the antigen by analyzing a quantity of antigen on the basis of the absorbance or transmittance difference.

    Abstract: There is provided a motion recognition system using footwear for motion recognition. The motion recognition system includes footwear for motion recognition and an information processing terminal. The footwear for motion recognition includes a pressure sensor, a height sensor and a three-axis acceleration sensor, measures variations in foot pressure, height and acceleration according to a user's motion, preprocesses signals measured by the sensors, and transmits the preprocessed signals. The information processing terminal analyses the signals received from the footwear for motion recognition, obtains information regarding the user's center of gravity, position within three-dimensional space and feet movements, and provides application services based on the obtained information.

    Abstract: Provided are a medication supporting apparatus and method. In the medication supporting apparatus, a storage section stores a strip of dosage bags that are continuously connected. A circuit section determines the position of the dosage bag strip according to the detection signal of the sensor section, and controls the carrier section. The apparatus includes a variable resistor including a conductive yarn, the length of which changes according to a change in circumference of one's chest when breathing, and having a resistance which changes according to a change in length of the conductive yarn, a resistance-voltage converter converting the resistance of the variable resistor into a voltage, an analog-digital converter converting the voltage in an analog-digital manner, and digitizing the converted results, a cross-sectional capacity calculator calculating changes in cross-sectional capacity of one's chest according to the digitized voltage, an adder adding the calculated changes in cross-sectional capacity and calculating lung capacity, and a transmitter externally transmitting the calculated lung capacity information. Therefore, lung capacity can be measured by wearing such an apparatus in the form of clothing without the use of an external apparatus or device.

    Abstract: Provided is a biosensor chip. The biosensor chip includes a plurality of biosensor cells that are arranged in a matrix and selectively generate and output a sensed signal by addressing of external light, at least one sensing line that is simultaneously connected with the plurality of biosensor cells and transmits the sensed signal from one selected from the biosensor cells, and an output terminal that receives the sensed signal from the sensing line and outputs the sensed signal to an external reader. Thus, the biosensor cells are set in array in the biosensor chip without a separate driving unit, so that a process of manufacturing the biosensor chip is simplified. The biosensor cell to be sensed is selectively addressed through the external light, so that it is possible to reduce a price of the biosensor chip used as a disposable chip.

The method includes forming an injection mold having a through hole, filling the injection mold with a photoresist formed of a viscous material, and extruding the photoresist from the injection mold through the through hole, solidifying the extruded photoresist to form a needle-type photoresist structure, forming a seed layer on the surface of the photoresist structure, forming a metal plated layer on the seed layer, inclining an end tip of the photoresist structure having the metal plated layer, and removing the photoresist from the metal plated layer to form a hollow. Thus, the hollow microneedle structure can be manufactured to have such diameter, length, hardness, and inclination angle as to minimize pain. The hollow microneedle structure can be combined with an apparatus for detecting a biomaterial or injecting cosmetic substances or medicines, and variously applied.

The method includes coating a hollow core having a predetermined section and being long in a lengthwise direction with a coating solution, and solidifying the coating solution to form a coating layer, depositing a metal seed layer on the coating layer, plating the seed metal layer with a metal to form a plated layer, cutting the hollow core having the plated layer at an inclination angle with respect to the lengthwise direction to form a surface inclination, and removing the hollow core and the coating layer to form a hollow. Thus, the hollow microneedle structure can be manufactured to have such diameter, length, hardness, and inclination angle as to minimize pain. By use of the hollow core, the microneedle structure can have vertical microneedles with a uniform inner diameter.
