Abstract: Disclosed is a drum washing machine having a bubble generator to wash laundry using bubbles. The drum washing machine includes a tub to contain washing water; and a bubble generator generating bubbles and supplying the bubbles to the tub, the bubble generator including a bubble generation pump allowing the washing water to flow therethrough and an ejector unit formed integrally with one side thereof to mix air with the washing water. The drum washing machine minimizes a reduction of the speed of the washing water due to a passage resistance, and thus increases an amount of generated bubbles.

Abstract: A drum type washing machine in which wash water and laundry contained in a rotating tub are heated by steam supplied into the rotating tub, so as to rapidly increase the temperature of the wash water and laundry, thereby being capable of reducing the total wash time while reducing the amount of wash water to be used, and reducing the consumption of energy caused by heating of the wash water.

Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the overall wash time while reducing the amount of wash water to be used.

A pulsator is rotatably mounted to a predetermined position of the rotary drum. A rotation guide unit rotates the pulsator by a rotating force of the rotary drum. The pulsator mounted to the rotary drum increases a physical force applied to laundry, thus enhancing a washing effect.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for eliminating wrinkles in clothes in a washing or drying machine using steam to eliminate the wrinkles in clothes, in a state in which the clothes are worn by a user or stored, as well as in a state in which washing of the clothes is terminated. The method includes determining whether or not a wrinkle-eliminating course is selected; supplying hot air to the clothes to eliminate dust from the clothes when it is determined that the wrinkle-eliminating course is selected; and supplying steam to the clothes, from which the dust was eliminated, to eliminate the wrinkles in the clothes.

Abstract: The washing machine can wash laundry using bubbles. The control method includes generating detergent concentrate liquid required for generation of the bubbles, supplying the detergent concentrate liquid and water into a water tub, generating the bubbles from detergent water as a mixture of the detergent concentrate liquid and the water, followed by supplying the bubbles to laundry, and washing the laundry using the bubbles. The bubbles act as a cushion to reduce friction between the laundry, thereby preventing texture of the laundry from being damaged due to the friction between the laundry and strong water stream while allowing dirt on the laundry to be effectively removed due to a high concentration of detergent in the bubbles.

The method detects conditions of clothes using a sensor, and performs at least one of: a complex drying function to perform a drying operation, a deodorizing operation, and a wrinkle removing operation; a wrinkle removing function to perform the wrinkle removing operation and the drying operation; and a drying function to perform the drying operation, according to the detected conditions of the clothes. Accordingly, the clothes dryer is capable of not only drying the clothes, but also deodorizing the clothes and removing wrinkles. Additionally, the clothes dryer is capable of detecting conditions of clothes accommodated in a chamber, and drying and deodorizing the clothes as occasion demands, thus maintaining the clothes for a long period.

Abstract: A method of cleaning a washing tub mounted in a water tub of a washing machine includes supplying water necessary to clean the washing tub to the water tub, and rotating the washing tub while supplying heat to the water tub by means of at least one heat supply device mounted in the washing machine. The washing tub is maintained at high temperature when the washing tub is cleaned, whereby decontamination and disinfection efficiency is improved. Also, water required to clean the washing tube is separately supplied to increase the rotating speed of a washing motor, whereby cleaning efficiency is improved.

Abstract: The present invention provides a drum washing machine and method of controlling the drum washing machine, in which a drain structure of a rotary drum is improved, thus reducing an amount of wash water used, conserving electric energy, and reducing overall washing time.
