    Abstract: A device and method for controlling the operating mode of an application included in service data which is transmitted together with a broadcast program, are disclosed. A digital broadcast system includes a digital broadcasting device which transmits service data together with a broadcast program, wherein the service data includes an application which allows a digital broadcasting receiver to perform a particular operation and information associated with the operating mode of the application. The digital broadcast system also includes a digital broadcasting receiver which receives the service data and executes the application when the operating mode of the application is an initial operating mode, and otherwise, waits until there is a service request by a viewer, and then executes the application.

Accordingly, an image can be captured and a captured frame data can be stored without being degraded, preventing memory consumption.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for recording location information of broadcasting signals, and a broadcasting signal receiving device and transmitting device adapting the method. The method for recording location information of a broadcasting signal comprises the steps of extracting location information of an I-picture by removing header information of a Transport Stream, and synthesizing the extracted location information into a null packet of the Transport Stream. According to the present invention, it is possible to know the location information of the I-picture which records the entire picture in the broadcasting signals and accordingly reproduce only the I-picture of the corresponding location easily. In accordance with the broadcasting signal receiving apparatus, it is easy to perform the operations of fast forwarding, rewinding and trick modes.
