  • Patent number: 8196537
Abstract: This WIG craft has a configuration of tandem/canard type, comprising: a body; a front wing having a relatively small aspect ratio, as installed in the lowest portion of the fore half of the body; and a rear wing having a longer span and a shorter chord length than the front wing, as installed in the rearmost portion of the body. Since the front wing, which is also used for planing, is not fixed directly to the body, but installed through a suspension system, so as to travel up and down while planing along the rough water surface, the WIG craft can take off and land stably even in high waves, and further cruise at a extremely low height safely without worrying about the impacts of the wave.

  • Publication number: 20070177871
Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting a burst using wavelength separation in an optical burst switching system, in which a plurality of nodes form a mesh network. The method includes the steps of generating, at a current node, a several hop going (SHG) burst arriving at a destination node by way of a plurality of nodes, allocating the generated SHG burst to a dedicated wavelength group to prevent the generated SHG burst from colliding with SHG bursts generated from previous nodes, and delivering the SHG burst to a next node, checking offset times of the SHG bursts generated from the previous nodes and classifying the SHG bursts according to the offset times, and allocating the SHG bursts separated according to the offset times to different wavelength groups and transmitting the SHG bursts to the next node. Using this method, it is possible to solve a problem of unfair competition among bursts according to the number of nodes that the bursts should transit in the optical burst switching system.

  • Publication number: 20070177588
Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting a burst in an optical burst switching system, in which when a burst is generated at an originating node, a burst control packet is transmitted to a destination node by way of a plurality of nodes and then a data burst is transmitted after a pre-allocated offset time. The method includes the steps of obtaining an arrival time of data bursts that survive competition to occupy an output channel among data bursts transmitted to the next node by way of the current node using offset time information in burst control packets for the survived data bursts, checking whether an empty void is present between the survived data bursts by using the obtained arrival time of the survived data bursts, and generating a new data burst originating from the current node, inserting the newly generated data burst into the checked empty void, and transmitting to the next node. This method can improve channel utilization and maximize performance of the optical burst switching system.
