Publication number: 20160265258Abstract: A roller unit for a sliding door comprises a connector assembly adapted to be secured to a sliding door. The connector assembly comprises a spindle. A wheel is mounted to the spindle of the connector assembly for rotation about the spindle, a circumferential groove defined in the wheel and configured for receiving an upwardly-facing edge portion of a transom. A tab projects from the connector assembly, the tab having an upwardly-facing surface adapted to be positioned under and vertically aligned with a downwardly-facing surface of the transom, a gap between the upwardly-facing surface and the downwardly-facing surface being equal or less than a depth of the circumferential groove. The roller unit holds the sliding door captive vertically on the transom while permitting translational movement of the door by rotation of the wheel about the spindle along the transom.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2016Publication date: September 15, 2016Inventor: Serge BOUTHILLIER

Publication number: 20160258198Abstract: A guide rail system for a sliding door assembly of the type having at least a first glass panel and a second glass panel spaced apart from the first glass panel, with the glass panels movable relative to one another, the guide rail system. Base rails are configured to be connected to a bottom edge portion of each of said glass panels, the base rails each having an elongated channel. A carriage has a pair of rail ends with a bridge interconnecting the rail ends, one of the rail ends received in the elongated channel of the first glass panel and moving therein, the other of the rail ends received in the elongated channel of the second glass panel and immovable therein. A door stopper(s) is received in the elongated channel of the first glass panel and immovable therein to block the elongated channel, whereby the at least one door stopper delimits the movement of the rail end of the carriage at one end of the elongated channel of the first glass panel.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2016Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventor: Serge BOUTHILLIER

Publication number: 20160123078Abstract: A support bracket for supporting a glass panel comprises a base adapted to be anchored to a ground or structure. A glass interface is configured to be connected to a glass panel for the support bracket to support a portion of the glass panel. A height adjustment mechanism operatively connects the base to the glass interface, the height adjustment mechanism enabling a translational upward and downward movement of the glass interface relative to the base and being lockable to maintain the glass interface at a desired height. A leveling adjustment mechanism is in the base for adjusting a level of the base relative to the ground or structure, the leveling adjustment mechanism being lockable to maintain the base at a desired leveling.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2015Publication date: May 5, 2016Inventor: Serge BOUTHILLIER

Patent number: 9127491Abstract: A sliding door assembly comprising one or more glass doors. Roller units are secured to a top portion of each the glass doors. The roller unit have a roller portion projecting out of a plane of the glass door. End members adapted to be secured to a structure at opposite ends of two transoms. Each said end member has two receptacles for receiving opposed ends of the end members. The receptacles of each said end member being spaced apart to hold the at least two transoms in a spaced apart and generally parallel relation, such that a guideway is defined between the transoms for holding captive the roller portion of the at least one roller unit for movement of the at least one glass door in its plane.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2012Date of Patent: September 8, 2015Assignee: GROUPE VFG INC.Inventor: Serge Bouthillier

Publication number: 20150020457Abstract: A sliding door system comprises a door made of a glass panel. One or more roller units are connected to the door and project from a plane of the door. A structural transom has a glass panel body with its main surfaces positioned generally vertically. The glass panel body is supported above an opening to define the structural transom for the door, with at least one slot defined in the glass panel body and having a lower edge surface and an upper edge surface. The slot is generally horizontal when the glass panel body defines the structural transom. The slot has a height for receiving a portion of the roller unit between the lower edge surface and the upper edge surface, and a length for allowing a translation of the door to open and close the opening by movement of the roller unit in the slot.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2014Publication date: January 22, 2015Inventor: Serge BOUTHILLIER
